Got back from Transformers 2. Squee. So much shiny dorkage. It is NOT a great piece of cinema that college students, years from now, will study in textbooks. At least not for the plot (the prevalence of fandom, now, is another thing). But it is a FANTASTIC car commercial, squee.
The robots are still giant, and they are still talking. There are still explosions, and they are plentiful.
Bumblebee is still adorable and I still want one, possibly to carry around in my purse. It would have to be the largest purse I've ever seen.
Replicators y/y? (including the GI Joe preview. I have no idea if it was the "I have been up far too long" or if everything really is in shades of Stargate this summer movie season.)
And you know, Optimus Prime's monologuing habit was never this facepalm-worthy when I was a little kid! Not that it was any different, just that somehow when I was a kid I thought it was right and proper that he should just go off and narrate for forty seconds something that could be said in four. Then again, without the monologues most of his dialogue would be reduced to significant looks and "RUN SAM," which is a waste of his voice actor.
I leave for the airport in 24 hours. I'm vaguely excited. And pleased in a fuzzy kind of way. When I've had more sleep I can probably rustle up some stronger feeling than "heh. yay."
Date tonight, 8:30, Denny's. Was supposed to be a date yesterday, but work kept him an extra hour and I didn't want to put off packing that much. It is a semi-blind (myopic?) date via match.com. Go ahead and get it out of your system, just don't do it in type. I've already heard it in person a lot.
I am reminding myself that I have to go to Rite Aid, because four weeks with no antihistamines sucks more than I want to contemplate.
