I am a pin whore. I have a 2x3 FOOT red fabric banner that proclaims how big of a whore I am (only about 30%, actually, but I'm working at filling it).
Some of you are going to Anime Expo. Some of you are going to other places. Some of you are FROM other places. I myself am going to Europe very soon. In fact, I will be there while you're at AX, if you're going. (Say hi to the cute, short staffer in charge of the Exhibitions Hall. You know, the loot. Don't be offended if she looks mad. In fact, if she looks CALM you should probably be concerned. She's in charge of the entire Exhibitions Hall all four days, and has a whole whopping one other staffer and three volunteers to help her.
For the entire Exhibit Hall. For the entire convention. Including crowd control. For AX, which has about 50,000 attendees.
Yeah, THAT was genius. We're thinking of holding a wake before she goes. x3)
Anyway, I know some of you are also pin whores. Frankly, statistics says that some of you HAVE to be. You are, after all, interested in some of the same things I am, so it naturally follows there will be a heavier overlap amongst you than there would be from the general populace
If you would like pins from London, Canterbury, Paris, Nevers, or anywhere else in France that I am going (exact stops I Forget, I Don't Remember, and the very famous pilgrimmage stop I'll Have To Check), please let me know. I'm open to art trade, fic trade, undying gratitude and free babysitting of future children, and, of course, pins. :3 Those of you who do not live in or near the following US locations: the Pacific Northwest, California, Hawaii, Yellowstone Ntl. Park, Utah, and Washington DC: You people have a natural advantage, as those are the places I live, visit regularly, have family, hit every pin-bearing gift shop while there, or all of the above. (Though if, say, DC has any special exhibits going on at Museum Row that have pins for, I am all over those nachos because it's been thirteen years since I was there.) I mean, technically I've been to Atlanta and New York, the aircraft's wheels hit the tarmac, but I never left the airplane, much less the airport.
I don't have any xxxHolic pins, though Ericka's already called dibs on that and the AX year pins. You'll have to fight her off, and I wouldn't chance it... she'll cut you. She's a tough broad- they put her in charge of the Exhibit Hall. (BTW, if you like watching trainwrecks you might want to hang out around the Exhibit Hall if it looks like Terminally Stupid is on an impact trajectory with the Smartmouth Avenger. Last year she said David Hayter (voice of Metal Gear Solid's Solid Snake) looked like a pedophile... while he and his handler were sitting behind her. The only reason the fans did not rip her limb from limb was they were both laughing and had to sit down. Good times. Last year she tore someone a new asshole... while standing on a chair. In front of a bunch of con attendees. "I almost had to publicly apologize to 300 guests for the language," she said. "But he just... He got right up in my face and he was a big guy! Standing on a chair I looked him in the eye." And I told her "honey, he deserved it... and you're short with huge blue eyes and really cute. If you hadn't done it, 300 fanboys would've jumped him. You probably saved his life." "Yeah, he just made me so MAD... and I had pigtails in, too." "There, see?")
I have Saiyuki pins, though by now they may have different poses. I don't have Dokugaku, Lirin, Yaone, Jeep/Hakuryuu, Dr. Ni/Ukoku Sanzo, Koumyou Sanzo, Hazel, or Gat. Initially I was kinda lukewarm on Hazel and Gat, but once again fandom has come to the rescue and I find myself needing to catch up on the scanlations when I get back from Europe. :3 I also don't have the plushie versions (Kami-sama arc) of the Ikkou, and if those aren't pins then THEY SHOULD BE.
The only Trigun pins I have are Vash and Kuronekosama.
The only Megami-sama pins I have are Belldandy and Peorth.
Someone who finds Petshop of Horrors WINS.
Anybody who brings back the Hoochie Mama Trifecta (Urd, Megami-sama; Yuuko, xxxHolic; Kanzeon Bosatsu/Merciful Goddess, Gensomaden Saiyuki) WINS ULTMATELY.
Unless you get me Ace, Smoker, Robin, Ben, someone from a VERY recent chapter, or a chibi of Shanks, I'm pretty much loaded for One Piece already. Mugiwara = SET.
I pretty much don't have anything current because I haven't kept up with ANYTHING while I was in school. Canon? What's that? I watch no anime. All I read is fanfiction, though I did hit onemanga.com for three solid days in between terms last year. YEAH. Sad, huh? Though Death Note, KHR, Bleach, and wossname (very popular series, Wossname) look promising.
If you must go to the Disney Empire, I can also possibly be bought with pins of Stitch that I do not already have, though in that case you'll have to check. x3 I've got quite a few.
Oh, and if Crispin Freeman or any of his fansites tries to tell you he is six feet tall he's lying through his beautiful fanboy teeth. That, or they really DO use a different measuring stick for men and women, because if I am five-eleven, and I'm taller than he is.... I give you that heels were involved on my part, but 3/4" heels do not make THAT much difference.
So yeah. If you want pins from Europe, let's talk. That is all. Back to boxes!
PS: I chose that emoticon for packing because it's pretty damn accurate of how I used to pack and still do unpack: the distract-and-play-with.
