HP is officially on the Never Again list
Hewlett-Packard has finally done it. I used to greatly admire HP. They have been wearing that down for years. Tonight, they have finally convinced me of the error in my ways.
We have an HP Business Inkjet 1200. This was purchased quite a while ago to hang on the network and was much better than a print server or network print device. I also like the idea of separate reservoirs for each color, heavy duty printheads and large paper trays. Automatic duplex printing was a plus.
I know I'm well behind others, but I've finally had it with the waste HP is forcing to make. Yet another print cartridge (with over 80% of reported capacity) has expired and there is no way to force the printer to just go ahead. There was no warning until the printer stopped. What makes this worse is the fact that I actually have a deadline and really need to get a printout. [Kinko's is going to benefit from this.]
I don't have a problem with warnings, voided warranties, etc. But I should always have a way to say "Just Do It!".
Not counting an old impact printer in the garage, every printer in the house is an HP. They have always just worked and kept on working. But I can't have a product that is going to just stop for no good reason. I'd be less upset if it had actually broken. This is after having two cartridges fail to work out of the box because they were already too old.
As a result, HP has now joined Sony (of DRM rootkit fame) on the Never Again list.
