i've been out of the realm of computers (or even internet access, a lot of the time) recently, and haven't finished writing anything in months, but i just came across this meme from a few months ago and thought it looked cool. so, yeah.

marriage!fic, yay!

He wakes up one Saturday morning and rolls onto his side to look at Reid, who is laying on his stomach with his limbs spread out, drooling onto his pillow. He can tell the moment Reid begins to wake up, and he smiles as Reid makes a low noise and his eyelids flutter open until he focuses on Hotch.

“What are you doing?” He mumbles without moving his head, and his mouth is still half-smushed into his pillow.

Hotch’s smile widens as Reid realizes he was drooling and brings one hand up to awkwardly rub the side of his face. “I was watching you sleep,” Hotch says.

Reid blinks at him blearily. “Creepy.”

Hotch laughs and Reid smiles. “I was thinking about how amazing you are and how lucky Jack and I are to have you.”

“That’s a ridiculously romantic pile of crap,” Reid mumbles into the pillow.

“It’s true,” Hotch says, moving closer. Reid turns so he’s facing Hotch, and Hotch slides his lower leg until it’s wrapped around Spencer’s calves and brings his hand up to cup the back of Spencer’s neck. “I love you, and Jack loves you, and you’re a huge part of our lives.”

Reid doesn’t lift his head from the pillow, but his eyebrows draw together in something that looks like suspicion. “I love you, too,” he says warily, still eyeing Hotch.

Hotch laughs as Reid tries to shimmy out of his grasp a little it, and he brings one hand to cup the back of the younger man’s neck. “Move in with me,” he says. Reid stiffens and Hotch moves his hand to run reassuring fingers along his side.

“Wait,” Reid croaks, his voice still rough with sleep, “what?”

In retrospect, Hotch thinks, this may not have been the best time to bring it up, but it’s not like he can take it back now, so he repeats himself. “Move in with me.”

Reid stares at him for a moment before he asks, “Here?”

what i do have of this is like, thousands of words of random snarky conversations. i wish the plot would just go ahead and fill itself in...

I am such a sucker for romance that it is most certainly sickening. That's probably why I'm a closeted romantic. Anyways this snippet makes me squee and feel gooey inside and I would most certainly read this even if it did lack plot. That and I love your writing. <3

I AM. Well. Technically the convocation is on Friday, and am still looking for a job. Any job at the moment, but Canada is in such a funk it's ridiculous!

Well just as long as you're ENJOYING yourself, then that's all that matters. And if not, then you need to take a little break!

Also, I am NOT pleased about the Canucks getting this far. I have such a rivalry hate with them, that I want to see Boston destroy them. Sadly I don't think it's going to happen, but one can hope!

Ah, yes, I forgot the age old rivalry between the Canadiens and the Canucks. I'm just stoked it isn't the Sharks. And I do like the Bruins, so there is that.

CONGRATULATIONS, by the way! I'm so happy for you! And don't worry about the job thing- it's impossible right now. You'll figure it out. :)

FLAMES, my dear, FLAMES :D
I actually quite like the Sharks, so I was sad to see them go.. although, I suppose them having beat Detroit makes things like that happen! I'm sorry that they didn't make it to the finals, but I'm sure you're ecstatic that the Blackhawks didn't make it, either!

And THANK you! I'm quite happy for myself as well, except with the going insane at home thing. And surprisingly enough, I just found a job posting for the exact position I want, in the town where I completed my practicum! So hopefully I get an interview for it! :)

This is a delicious ficlet in itself. I love cuddling-in-the-morning stories because I'm sappy like that. I hope those snarky conversations will eventually see the light of day. :)
