Travel plans are a go!

I saw my orthopaedic surgeon today and he says that my recovery is going fine. Most of the numbness is gone except for one place above my ankle and my toes. Full strength has returned to my ankle, but my toes are still a bit weak. The doc says my progress is good, but it's just going to take time for the nerves to fully heal and recover. My wound from surgery has healed up 75%, and the doc thinks that I should be good to go back to the U.S. come July.

I really can't wait. I've missed my family so much. They've all had a rough year... Aunt Patty battling lung cancer, Uncle Charlie having triple bypass surgery, Evan having more cancer treatments, Aunt Lynne having cancer treatments, Uncle Gerry dying. It's been a bit much to sit back and take, especially on the other side of the planet. Now that I resigned from my job, I plan on spending some extra time in the States with my family. I'm excited to visit my brother, as I think things are finally turning around for him. He now has full custody of the kids, so I know that I will be able to see my nephews for my entire visit to NJ! I just miss everyone so much, I really can't wait to see my friends and family again after being away for a year.

Booking the flight home tonight will be the best and only anniversary present that I need!
