Babysitting & DnD

Yesterday was one of the most enjoyable days I've had in a long time. I was at my brother's house by 9am so I could babysit the twins while he and Sarah went to Eric and Liz's wedding. After two days of babysitting them, I'm now an adept at feeding, burping, and diaper changes. The only snags in the day were getting acosted by Jehovah's Witnesses and Martin peeing on me 3 times in a row.

Shortly after my brother left, two Jehovah's Witnesses knocked on the door -two guys. They wielded magazines and wanted to talk to me about marriage. I was able to blow them off by saying that I didn't live there. I took their magazines and they were on their merry way. Later I noticed Martin had a wet diaper, and when I started to change him, woooooo! Pee all over my shirt and his outfit. I refastened the diaper and went to wash my hands off in the bathroom. I came back the changing table, and wouldn't you know it the same thing happens again. After washing a second time, I figured that was the last of it, but no, as soon as the diaper was off again, auntie took a shot of pee in the chest. I coulda sworn he was doing it on purpose. :o) I'm really glad I brought a change of clothes. I took them for a late-morning walk in their stroller and then we took a nap together in the air conditioned living room. I played with them and read them nursery rhymes from their baby book. I had such a great day with them, then Grandma Campbell came to pick them up at 4pm and I was off to Dan and Sue's place for DnD.

My husband's friend, Dan, started up a DnD game and invited us and several other friends to join. I had given up on roleplaying games a while ago, haven't even played in a game in 5 or 6 years (maybe more!?), and I was very reluctant to join. I must admit though that once I was there, my inner gaming geek reawakened, and I had a lot of fun. I guess once a gaming geek, always a gaming geek. :o)
