Ahhh, the power of oranges...
I am in love. I have spent the past 3+ hours cleaning our bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom is still a disaster, because I'm trying to figure out where to put everything. Moving blows. However, my bathroom looks amazing. My friend Heather gave me this Orange Clean kit. It's amazing, amazing stuff. Our bathtub was disgusting; it didn't have mold in it, but it had that gross, white soap scum, and that nasty black grimy stuff that's like residue left over from bath products. With a little bit of elbow grease, the orange stuff took care of it. I'd actully let a stranger use my bathroom! (Well, almost... The floor still needs to be done). But, it worked well on the tile grout too. Like I said, no mold, but it was scummy and dirty. Not anymore! (Good Lord, I sound like a commericial!) I'm just starting to feel relieved... Our deposit for this place was one month's rent: Almost $800, and I'll be damned if I'm not getting the majority of it back.
We have decided that we are going to start moving into our new place on December 29th. We hope to have it all done by the 31st. We have a wedding to go to in Duluth on January 1st, (contingent on how tired we are that day. We're gonna be doing a ton of running around between the 24th and 1st) and I'd like to have everything moved into the new place by then. We have until the 15th to be out of here, but if we can get everything done by the 31st, it would save us almost $400 for 1/2 month rent here. So, I'm trying to get situation under control. I didn't do much yesterday, but today, I cleaned the bathroom, and started dismantling the bedroom. With Christmas coming up, I won't be able to do anything from the 24th-27th, so I want to get as much done as possible before then. I think that once I start cleaning the living room, I'll feel more relaxed. It's the biggest shit-hole right now. Dan and I got extremely lazy after he moved in. We haven't cleaned much at all. Thank God this place isn't bigger than it is. We'd be screwed.
Anyhoo, here's a link to our new apartment complex/floorplan. We're renting the Interlachen plan, and it's gorgeous. We both absolutely fell in love with it.
