Dear English Language Student,

If you are going to commit plagiarism in your original writing coursework, try actually handing your draft in on time. That way there might be a small chance it might not get noticed within ten minutes of your teacher getting the email. Also, don't change your topic completely at the last minute, since that makes it even more obvious. And choose your author to plagiarise carefully. After all, you are only 18, not hugely academically talented, so you need to choose someone who is competent but not very special. Someone your teacher might not have heard of, or at least not read much by. Given that I am your English teacher...

STEPHEN FRY WAS QUITE A BAD CHOICE TO PLAGIARISE!

Especially when the piece you chose to cut and paste whole paragraphs from was the Dork Talk column, which your English teacher rushes to read every single Saturday morning in the Guardian Weekend.

yours,

your ex-teacher
