9:00 this morning, I'm ready to start typing up the LP's for one of our special schools out in Pudong after staying late with the team last night (6:50) to get them plotted out. Iget them typed up only to realize i have no internet access. Apparently today is the day I have to renew my service - a process which requires me getting my account code from the secretaries, going to Sichuan road, buying the cards and then getting someone to call them in for me because there is no English option. Okay, no internet, I can deal. I can still type.
Wham - BANG! Not an hour after I begin typing them up, the power completely shuts off in my apartment. My battery does not work in my craptop anymore so this is now useless to me. I decide, 'screw it', I'm going to the office, even though it's my day off. Get to the office, start typing - and the light directly over my desk burns out, leaving me in partial darkness.
Naturally.
I have everything done now, I'm going home (the guys are coming to fix the power at 4) and I will worry about getting internet tomorrow morning. I'll spend the night reading saved fics and watching the Turtles Forever movie. :D
See, L came to stay one last night before going back to Jinshan this morning and she found TF at the shop during her excursions. Only one copy though, the bastards. I get to watch it and then return it later. ^^
Last night L and I met
blithesea at Malones for the first time!
blithesea is an awesome person, and we had tons of fun. At one point I was laughing so hard my stmoach started cramping up! Margaritas! Ceasar Salad! Real cheeseburgers! I art in heaven. :D Singing along with the band (lots of old 80's music again) and L tried to teach us how to fold cranes out of napkins.
blithesea made a decent one but mine looks deformed and half-drunk. :)
I am so looking forward to doing that again. ^^ I needed a night out, goddammit.
Orientation was kinda awesome this time around. We have a hysterical bunch of teachers who made me laugh until I thought I was going to piss myself. Highlights definitely include the Survivor 'critical thinking' game E had them play (oh my god, I almost died at some of the answers which I'll share once I have internet back) and the 'fights' I asked the coordinators to instigate during the teaching demos. :D
Tomorrow night, Jess and I are going out for my birthday. ^^ We're apparently getting dinner and then pedicures somewhere on Ruijin road. ^_^
