Another Deadpool infusion!
...enjoy it while it lasts. I start back to work this coming Monday and god only knows how busy I'm gonna be. ;D
Anyhoo, back story time:
Deadpool is being stalked by a psychotic orderly from Department H (the facility that created him, gave him his name and drove him insane). The bad guy - Ajax - is near unbeatable, super-strong and completely NUTSO, caring only about killing Deadpool. At the same time, Deadpool is being haunted by his old buddies from the crazy ward at Dept. H who were killed by Ajaz and swear they will haunt Wade forever and a day if he doesn't end the cycle by killing Ajax. Only problem is, Deadpool's been on this little redemption kick and while maiming and damaging Ajax is always good for a laugh, killing him is not.
Deadpool rescues Killebrew - the mad doctor who started all this years ago - from Ajax's clutches because he wants to know how to kill the cazy man. Killebrew doesn't know, but at the same time, doesn't want Wade to kill him - he wants to change things, become a better person, just like Wade wants to. Killebrew winds up sacrificing himself to give Wade and Ilaney time to run away.
Who's Ilaney? Well, while Deadpool was dragging Killebrew all over the mountains, they stumbled upon a shut-in and accidentally made her a target. Deadpool started an avalanche to buy them time and wiped out her home, but with Ajax close on his tail, he doesn't have time to beg for forgiveness. Rather, he drags her along. Trapped on a ledge, they dive into the icy waters (they are in northern Europe in WINTER) to get away - and this is where the three scans I have here come in. We see Deadpool having a caring side after all - even while he's still swearing a cursing a bluestreak at the spirits who just won't leave him alone. ;D
Ilaney is brought back to the land of the living by the spirit of Killebrew who gives his energy to her in a final moment of self-sacrifice. Deadpool winds up keeping her around for the next dozen issues or so as his pilot - she craves adventure once he helps her get over her fear of flying again, and he lets her experience it from a safe distance. Ilaney becomes quite the adrenaline junkey. :D So cute. :D
PS - Skype works! I talked to
australia_rulz for nearly 45 minutes and even got the webcam working for a little bit, thanks to the help of trentonzero . Anyone else wanna talk, check it out!
