Why is everyone trying to impregnate Kagome?

Nov 18, 2007 00:20

I swear, my search criteria didn't seem that complicated. 30-50k in length, Kagome, Inuyasha and InuKag as the keywords, h/c, angst or drama as the genre (romance as a last resort if the search came back zero), hit enter, sit back and watch the fics flow in.

I forgot that this is FFNet. The dumping ground of newbies and one-track minders. Every freaking summary has Kags getting knocked up.

DO YOU PEOPLE NOT REALIZE THAT IT *IS* POSSIBLE TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP THAT DOESN'T IMMEDIATELY RESULT IN SPAWNAGE?

I mean, c'mon, I love kids as much as the next person - I wouldn't have my current job if I didn't. But man, what I really want is a nice long IY action and drama fic that I can sink my teeth into - that doesn't immediately have a 15 or 16 year old Kagome getting preggers. She's one of the few intelligent female characters out there in anime land - you're telling me she would ruin her life at that age so easily? She's FIFTEEN IN THE ANIME! God people, at least make her LEGAL before you saddle her with a kid in the feudal era!

Okay, rant over. If anyone has decent fic links they wanna throw my way, please feel free.

In other news, I made macaroni salad today and it was good. I am spending so much of my spare time on zaar recipes that I made myself an account. ^^ I can't wait until payday - I'm gonna get a toaster oven. Erin and I went to the Metro the other day and had tons of fun squeeing like mad, squeeing things in the kitchenware aisles, pointing out things we want to buy. She's also informed me she's buying me reindeer antlers for me to wear for Christmas. I say, bring it on. I'll walk around town with 'em on.

This cooking shtick is becoming more and more fun to do with each success. And I only had one kitchen booboo as a result. I MOCK THEE, KITCHEN GODS! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

By the way, the grade 2's are killing me.
I still do not refer to them as 'mine', as I do the 3's and 4's. They will never be 'mine'. They're little idiots. And I mean that in a caring, teacher-ish way. But they are. My kids were so much more advanced at that age than these ones are, and it's frustrating as hell to have to keep stepping back and dumbing down the language. They just aren't stretching themselves like my other kids do. The 4's never say they don't understand - they ask me to repeat it, or use the new word in a sentence. They guess, they confer, they check their books, they try again, they go home and look it up themselves - they never ask for the easy answer, and they never give up. The 2's don't even try. It makes me grit my teeth to keep from growling.

Oh well. That's life.

I have pics to post tomorrow. I've been trying to upload video but everything keeps timing out. I'll try again when I wake up. It's Sunday tomorrow. I have nothing else to do.

....except watch the new episode of SPN. I have two newest episodes freshly downloaded and I plan on squealing my lungs out tomorrow afternoon. ^__^
