Oh, I am a sucker. :P

I just gave in to the voices in my head and signed up over at fanfic100 for the character Kirihara Akaya. *shrugs* Kamio Akira was already taken, and so was Sengoku Kyosumi. :) That's okay - I like Akaya. I want to get inside that boy's head and make him squirm. He's got so much potential for mad-capped craziness and trauma, and I want to exploit it all. :)

Which means Kat? I'll be begging you to add the table to a post here eventually (if my claim's accepted, that is). I already have ideas for four of the prompts.

I gave Ruthie a bath today. It was a bloomin' down-pour yesterday and her paws were utterly filthy. But we did get to try out her raincoat! Result? The base of her head, neck, back, belly, chest, and the upper half of her legs - all dry. Her face, tail and feet? Soaked.

Conclusion: She needs booties. :)

It's thunder-and-lightning-ing outside right now. ^^ Drizzling. But with cool nature-induced special effects. Ruthie's on my lap and howls every time there's a clap.

And Jessica gave me a cell phone the other day. I go four years in this country without one and all of a sudden, she decides I can't go another day without one. :)

Okay, in actuality, she had no one to text during her classes and she knows I don't have a class during that time. BUUUUUUT we're on two separate campuses and so when she bought her new cell phone, she decided to give her old one a new owner.

And the bloody thing doesn't work. Oh well. It has time on it, a new sim card and everything but it keeps shutting off. I'll ask her about it tomorrow but if it doesn't work, well, it's just more proof that me and a cell phone in China just were not meant to be. It's not like I paid for it, after all.

However if I do manage to get it working, my number is going to be the best-kept secret in the world. I do not want the office finding out I have one, or sneakily getting the number off someone else. The last thing I need is A or H being able to get a hold of me at any time.

Betty came over again. We made watercolor puzzle messages - wherein we write messages with waterproof back markers on a piece of thick paper. Then we draw puzzle lines all over it. We used water colors to paint each section and then let it dry. Then we 'laminated' it with clear packing tape, trimmed the edges, and cut out the pieces. Instant puzzle. We raced each other to see who could reconstruct the message faster - she won. Naturally. I *hate* puzzles. :) Then we read them both out loud and discussed what we wrote.

For the fellow teachers on this list, you can substitute crayons and markers for watercolors. We did the laminating thing because Betty likes to have everything nice and protected (me too) but that's a step you can skip too. Just have your students write a message about the topic you're teaching - easy puzzles are short sentences and big puzzle pieces. Hard puzzles are long and detailed messages with smaller pieces. You can eliminate the coloring step too, if you're short on time - that'll really make it difficult. :) It's fun, trust me. ^^

And FFNet's still down. Mou, - *pouts* - it's not even a case of me wanting to update my own work, it's a matter of wondering who else might have updated over the last few days. There are some fics that until this weekend, were quickly being updated and I want to read more!
