*sigh*

It was good while it lasted.

I am officially out of my vegetable dip packets mom sent me. With the exception of lunch at erin's today, lunch at O'Malley's on Sunday, and the Korean place Saturday night, I have been living almost exclusively on vegetables and low-fat dip with the spice packets. Lunches of celery. Dinners of broccoli. Snacks of cauliflower. Oh yes - these things make for a very happy mouse. ^^

.....yet I still have half a box of maccaroons. I'm rationing those puppies out.

So I recieved some good news. I am recieving an additional 3000rmb this month as a part of my contract that I had almost forgotten about (which means I owe Brent a big thank you for pointing out that little detail). On top of the 200 I get each week fom Erin for tutoring, and the 600 I'll be making this Saturday, plus the 200 in reciepts I handed in the other day, and it looks like my financial woes are going to be less...woeful. Heh. Which means I can make the trip to the bank this week without hyperventilating in panic. And the evals will be in March which means I'll be making extra cash then too.

In other news, Bon Jovi is coming to Shanghai! It hasn't been confirmed yet, but oh PLEASE let it be in October like it's been hinted at. I am so there it's not funny. I missed the Stones concert 'cause I was broke, I don't like enough of Eric Claptons stuff to warrant the expense, and I refuse to spend money on the Backstreet Boys, but I will shell out money for Bon Jovi tickets. I don't care how uncool this makes me. I love Crossroads.

Went to the office the other day and walked right into a game of Red Light Gren Light. Apparently the company's english Winter Camp started right on schedule. Ruthie and I took two steps before we were bombarded - there were about 8 kids from my class/school there. It was cute.

Like I mentioned above, I was at Erin's for tutoring today and wound up staying for lunch. I helped cook, believe it or not! She put me in charge of onion and carrot chopping, and we made beef soup, chinese style, complete with an entire bottle of Tsing Dao (chinese beer) being dumped in. She also taught me how to cook noodles the proper way - which is, NOT putting them directly in a pan to fry and eventually mash to a paste within the wok. Heh.

Ruthie enjoyed that. Erin set aside an entire bowl of meat and veggie scraps for her.

I've been zipping back and forth from one old fandom to another recently. I'm still on a recharged Dom and Brian TFATF kick, but I was surfing random journals and came across a gal writing some Rictor/Shatterstar stuff that blew me away, and so of course I immediately high tailed it to the Ric and Shatty archive for a trip down memory lane. Great fics here by the way. Mmmm. :) Kat, I swear to you, read the stuff by Tangerine.

See, Ric and Shatterstar were among the first mutants in X-history that were about to be canonically slashed together.  For complete visual proof, please check this link for a page full of scans showing the setup being done here (most telling would be the fine print in the boxes in the 2nd to last pic). If you can survive the horror that is Rob Liefields art in the beginning, you get the prettier stuff later on. Anyway,  the creative team up and quit after being hassled over storylines by the powers that be at MArvel, and Ric and Shatty got tossed to the background, eloping running off to Mexico to take down Ric's arms dealing family. You don't see much of them until the miniseries and the new X-Factor book but all the foreshadowing of Ric and Star's relationship was eliminated completely.

Until you see this series of pictures from the new book. Please to be noting the last two panels. Happy happy joy joy!

It gives me hope for my boys, even if I can't buy any of the issues until this summer. Imma going bin-hopping! ^___^

And yes, I've been a fangirl for a long time. Kat, you'd like these two. So much pretty.

Here's a pic I did of them a few years ago. it ain't perfect but it was 6 years ago too. Gimme a break. :)  Umm...non-open minded people should probably avoid the link.

And just to keep ya happy, here's the other one. Shatterstar looks good in this one (i was proud of how he turned out) but Ric's legs are backwards I think. or something. He looks awkward.

Oh yeah! Since Kat forgot to mention details on her LJ, I'll share them here. ^^ Congratulations Kat, and happy birthday Chibi! 7 years ago Josh, your mom went into labour in the middle of the call center. She caused the biggest backlog of calls we'd had in months because everyone hit the 'not ready' buttons on their phones when they heard someone's water had broken on floor - while she was on a call, no less! Everyone panicked and two people threw up - it was gloriously chaotic! Your mom will be forever a part of NC history, and so will you, as a result.   *raises a coke in salute* Enjoy your cupcakes kiddo!

And lastly, good luck on the job offer
australia_rulz! If you do move to Toronto, we can all visit Ayan at the same time! ^____^ My fingers and toes are crossed for you!
