When it comes to knitting I like to finish what I start. Sometimes that just doesn't work out, though. I have several projects in my Ravelry database that ended up being frogged. Ribbit, ribbit!
The latest one is a hexagon block for a throw/blanket pattern called Persian Dreams. Many of the FOs on Ravelry are simply gorgeous! The thing is I loathe weaving in ends and seaming stuff together, and this pattern requires lots of both. I thought the beauty of the FO would overcome that loathing, and it might have, but the problem is that starting each block is a majorly royal PITA. Seriously, I had to start this block at least 12 times before I got it going! I know myself well enough to know that I simply won't put up with that for 24-ish blocks.
So, I decided to frog what I started. That was a difficult decision that took me more than a week to make. Like I said, I like to finish what I start. However, I just couldn't see myself proceeding with it.
For now I'm concentrating my time on making a cardigan for myself till some yarn I ordered arrives. Then I'll break from the cardi for a few days to make a hat for a friend who admired the one I gave to a mutual friend for Christmas. When the hat is done, I'll go back to the cardi and finish it. I'm hoping it will be done by mid-February so that I might get some use out of it this season.
