A start...

It's shocking, I know. I even shocked myself, but I decided to go for a short walk at lunchtime today. I took a short walk (maybe 1/2 mile) on one section of the trail over in George Pierce Park. I made it all the way around without sitting down or leaning on the bridge rails. I did stop once to catch my breath, and coming up the last little bit before the parking lot I was huffing and puffing pretty loudly. Good thing no one was around to hear me!

I plan to go back at lunchtime tomorrow and walk the same section. I need to do that a few times before I try to move on to something different. This has to be about developing a habit, and that habit will never take if I push too hard too fast.

Another shock: I set a goal of visiting all the waterfalls in North Georgia by the end of August. I think there are 10. I have 23 weeks to get it done. My plan is to research all of them to find out how far and how challenging is the trail. Then rank them on those 2 factors. Going to the different falls will be my weekend morning adventures. I hate being hot, so it will have to be early mornings, though!

I can do it; I know I can. I just have to balance pacing myself with developing a new habit.

Oh, and the point of all this is to get my ass off the couch some.
