Plan for Saturday, 5/9:
Wake up whenever I wake up. There will be no alarm setting this weekend!
First things first -- take out the trash from the pantry cleanout, and take the 2nd round of donations to the Goodwill truck. I want all the stuff that I can get in my car gone so it's not underfoot, cluttering up the place. My staging area for all that stuff is right by the front door; hence, the underfootness of it.
After a quick stop for a caffeine infusion, I plan to come home and pull everything out of the guest room closet. That is where I put all the flattened boxes and packing materials from the last move. I need to assess what I have and figure out what I might still need. For example, I know that I need another large mirror box and picture kit for the fish painting I bought from Donna. However, I don't know what else I might need because I don't know what's in that closet. This should take maybe an hour at most.
There will most likely be other things in the closet that I want to get rid off. The ratty $15 Christmas tree leaps to mind...that will be the start of donations round 3.
Once I've got everything out of the closet and have an idea of what's there, then I will come downstairs and pack up my desk area. I shouldn't need any of that stuff for the next few weeks. This will take several hours, and I need to be done in there before it gets too hot. The room has a full Western exposure, so by mid-afternoon sweat pours off of me even just sitting still.
Once I'm done with the office area, then I will move to the kitchen and get all the pots, pans, and dishes packed up. I know I have packing materials for all of this stuff. There may be some stuff here that ends up in donation round 3 as well. I think this will take less than 2 hours.
In the evening, I plan to pack up all the DVDs from my entertainment chest. This shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.
I hoping to get all of this done on Saturday so that I can have Sunday to relax mostly. We'll see...some of this is dependent on my having the right size & type of boxes. I may have to make a run to the U-Haul store.
Unrelated but bizarre...just before I hit post on this entry, my printer started beeping. The printer is not wireless, and it's not hooked up to anything. I unplugged it from the wall. Bella was right in front of me, so I know she didn't jump on it and push any of the buttons. Odd...
