Pack Bonding: Were-Reading Wednesday

Nov 21, 2012 18:36

Welcome to the Second Were-Reading Wednesday of the month! So, I think by now you guys know what's up, here. Its where you Share what you've been reading this past week in fandom, talk about what you like, what you didn't like, new favorite authors, etc.! Annnnnnnd it's where WE ALL talk about this month's/week's pack book club choices! This month's book club choices, so far, are:

new ways to fall apart by addandsubtract

and

The Truth Is Elusive by ahab2692

The theme is Stiles/Lydia/Jackson fics! And the first one we read is new ways to fall apart! So what'd you think, guys?

Here's MY THOUGHTS:
I LOVE the way that this author writes Stiles' voice. It's hilarious, but not unrealistic. A lot of people write Stiles like just because you have ADD none of your thoughts make sense. Or like he's constantly flailing all over the place. But Stiles is actually a very complex character, and he's also presented as the most flushed out character in the show. So it's always nice to encounter a story that portrays him as such. I also like the parallels that Stiles draws between Jackson and Lydia in the story, because I see so many similarities between them, with the masks that they both put on. And I like the development of the relationship, because it feels relatively organic. Jackson is an asshole, and he's pretty much going to act like one to Stiles no matter what, even when he wants to get in his pants. :D

How did YOU feel?

If you've already read The truth Is Elusive, PLEASE NO SPOILERS, if you haven't GET EXCITED. I'm giving everyone the week to read it, OR re-read it, and come back with some fun, entertaining, intelligent, or otherwise interesting comments about the story, so we can all share the experience!

#Okay!, GO ON. BOND LIKE THE WONDERFUL PACK YOU ARE! And don't forget that we are your pack feels/polyamory feels family, okay? Post here with whatever, whenever. PLEASE (it's so quiet lately) S'why posting is unmodded.
