less than halfway into the movie i loved that quote, and then at the
end of the movie, it happened to me. I've seen this movie before,
but maybe the fact that i was trying to make a good joke, or a smooth
move to hold my girlfriend's hand distracted me from it. But that was a good thing.
Tyler Durden has been surpassed on my list of all time coolest guy ever.
Surpassed by Lester Burnham.
I haven't cried in a while. That is a beautiful thing to write down.
I cried today, at 6:50 am while American Beauty not only finished its
last few minutes, but surpassed Billy Madison and Fight Club, as my all time
favorite movie.
I posted a while ago the bag scene upset me, but i was being stubborn.
I listened to what the Ricky said, and it was ok. But to me
that little bag signifies all of us. Constantly trying, fighting the
wind, gravity, the leaves, and physical limitations. But it never
gave up trying to fly high.
Lester Burnham went through so damn much.
His marriage was a fraud.
His daughter hated him.
They both thought he was a loser.
The highlight of his day was masturbating while showering in the morning.
I know this is only a movie. But if a movie can make me
feel good about myself, better about anything, ready for
anything. Then that is awesome. I don't need drugs to loosen up,
to open up, to have a good time.
A good time to me is deep beautiful simple APPRECIATIVE thoughts.
Where as this could be seen as self-improvement.
