Fulfilling Nagi's request hadn't really been difficult. It had just been a matter of timing. The room was full of huge windows, and everyone inside had better things on their minds than noticing the pale shadow standing in one of them.

Up until the sharp crack of a gunshot and a bullet knocking Farfarello's knife off-target. Only a delay, but enough of a delay for Nagi to catch Tot and drag her away. Enough of a delay to save the girl and the mansion.

Only Crawford and Schuldig recognized him, of course. A faint smirk crossed Morpheus' face as he saw Crawford's lips shape his name. He was too far to hear, but he didn't doubt the other man's voice was a venomous growl. He gave Crawford a mocking bow before leaping backward out the window. He paused briefly to snap a picture of Nagi running out of the mansion with Tot before disappearing into the trees.

Crawford was able to get the address of Morpheus' apartment from his contacts without much difficulty. He knocked politely enough at the door, and when it was opened, slammed his fist into Morpheus' face. He stepped in as Morpheus stepped back, closing the door behind him.

"Morpheus."

"Oracle," Morpheus replied coldly, brushing a hand over the red mark on his cheek. "I'd say it was a pleasure to see you again, but I'd rather not tell that big of a lie."

"Your unwarranted interference in Schwarz business is not appreciated."

"Angry because I gave your boy something you wouldn't?" Morpheus asked mockingly, tilting his head. Crawford's eyes narrowed as he stepped closer, fingers curling into a fist again. Morpheus pulled his gun and clicked the safety off, pointing it at Crawford. "I'm not Schwarz, Oracle, as you are so kindly reminding me. I'm not about to stand here and let you beat on me. Unless you intend to kill me and bring our masters down on your head for risking waking up the vessel, get out. I don't think you want to do that. Not when you're so close."

Crawford paused, watching him with a carefully blank expression. "True. Best not to disturb them so close to the ritual. We don't want anything to go wrong."

Morpheus laughed, walking past Crawford with the gun trained on him to open the door. "No. We definitely don't want anything to go wrong with your plans, Oracle. The ritual is...important, after all. Most of Eszett will be there."

The suggestive, knowing tone made Crawford tense, but he walked out. "Interfere again and we will finish this, Morpheus."

"You have bigger things than me to concern yourself with, Oracle. I have no interest in interfering with those," Morpheus told him before shutting the door in his face.
