Are you fucking kidding me?
Just to add to the list, I'd like it known that my AC crapped out this morning. In the two years we've been in this house, we've replaced the furnace, the water heater, and now the AC is gone.
My goal is to get a temporary patch (or sealant) and pump a shitload of freon into the thing. As long as it will hold out for another month or two, I don't have to replace it until next spring. (I'm thinking that a new AC unit of comparable size should go for about $750 or so.)

Somehow, this is better than renting - but I'm not sure how.
