okay here's the deal. i'm tutoring a little girl on her multiplication table. now i know what you're thinking, "but rita you're a social studies nerd. you have to take your math tests in the special room! you're the least qualified person in the world to teach some one math!!" yes everyone you're right. but that's the point. the parents want someone who struggled with math to help her because it's less intimidating for her, and i will be a model of how the mathematically inept will deal. yadadadada....
anyways. i want to do a lesson where six people act as human bowling pins. a bowling pin will shout a multiplication problem and if she gets it right you'll all fall on the ground. if she misses it by two or three, all but two or three will fall on the ground. if she's way off everyone will remain standing. it might sound lame but i think it'll be cool for a 5th grader. plus she'll get to hang out with the big kids for an hour.
so what do you say?? are you in?? there might be pizza and cookies involved.
