I decided to make this taco bake for my husband and his friend for their weekly get together of college football, gaming, and whatever else. It is always quite the hit with these guys!
1 pound ground beef
1 can tomato sauce
1 pound pasta of your choice (I prefer rotini for this dish)
1 cup sour cream
1 8 oz package cream cheese (brought to room temperature)
2+ cups of your favorite cheese (I use a Monterrey jack and cheddar cheese mixture)
Black pepper, onion powder and garlic powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cook pasta according to package instructions and drain well
Crumble and brown hamburger, drain grease
Place meat mixture back in pan, mix with tomato sauce and taco seasoning. Simmer while you mix the sour cream/cream cheese mixture
In a separate bowl whisk cream cheese with a couple dashes of pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Mix in sour cream
Mix pasta and meat mixture together and pour into 9x13 pan
Spread cream cheese/sour cream mixture on top of the pasta
Top with as much cheese as you feel is necessary
Bake for about 20 minutes until hot and cheese is melted
I like plenty of hot sauce on it!
No pictures of after it was cooked because, well, it looked the same except the cheese was melted.
