Low rent party dip (that doesn't seem low rent)

I had to laugh when I read the community info because, yes, this comes from my grandma's church cookbook. Only they had another name for it.

Low Rent Shrimp Dip

You know those little glass jars of premade shrimp cocktail (the ones with the shrimp so small you wonder if they're real). Well, take one of those and just dump it into a package of cream cheese and beat the heck out of it. Serve with your favorite cracker or chip. If you want to be fancy, top the mess in the bowl with some sort of colorful dried spice. LOL! 'S yummy!

To be really low rent, wash out the glass jar the shrimp came in and use it as a juice glass. C'mon, you know grandma's cabinets were full of them

Also, it looks like mac-n-cheese has been done to death so I was surprised not to find this variation I developed in college. Not really an add in, more an alternative prep method since in my college days the chances of the milk not being outdated were slim and someone always used up the butter (because everything's better with butter). To make the powdered cheese kind you just cook the noodles and then dump on the cheese packet with a huge dollop of sour cream. Much better than the regular way and even more delish if you add some catsup.
