Tried to buy Big Day Out tickets tonight, along with 2 others at our work, and couldn't. We started at midnight, and at 12.34 saw the message that all the ones allocated to Sydney had sold out. Bugger.

There are already tickets being offered on ebay. CUNTS!!

It's now up to Dom to try at 9am. With all the rest of NSW.

Funny, I was just complaining earlier about the ebay sellers who slap "rare and hard to find" on their action figures and such, because people buy entire cartons at retail and put the damn things on ebay!

Yeah, we had the same problem, but with the 9am sale. We forgot about the midnight one. *sigh* No BDO tickets for us.

That really sucks.. The way these things are sold really needs to be re-evaluated.. =/

I kind of like the way the Gaelic Club does it.
You can buy up to 4 tickets, and the person who bought them on their credit card has to be present when you enter.

I know this is a pain for some people, but i think the value of doing it this way, outweighs the pain in the arse of needing to go with the buyer.
It certainly means more people who will actually go will get tickets, rather than scalpers.

I really like that too. Only draw back is it takes absolutely forever to get everyone in the venue.

Last night, I was buying for myself and five other people. When I saw the ticket limit, I managed to get four myself, but the website had sold out before my boyfriend could buy two more on his card. No luck with Tickmaster this morning - apparently they started selling yesterday 'by mistake'. Hopefully the Saturday show will lessen the demand for Friday tickets so our last two friends came come with us without getting ripped off.
