Last weekend and this weekend
I had an awesome time last Saturday night! I was especially pleased that my mate Grant came to an alt/goth club for the first time ever - and liked it! His new boy, who's Scottish, used to be a goth years ago and absolutely loved the songs from The Cult, Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, and other alt stuff from the Uk that he doesn't hear anymore - Suede, Wonderstuff, PWEI, Goldfrapp, Depeche Mode, Joy Division etc. They were the first up on the dancefloor and came over to ask me "is it ok that we're kissing?" Well, it IS the Taxi Club - I think it's OK!!
We met some great new people too, including a cross-dresser Angie who was just lovely, and who one of the band "69 Eyes" was having a good chat with. He said in Finland there's a big crossover between the alternative/goth music scene and kink scene - much the same as here I guess.
This weekend we're finally going to see Captain Reckless and the Lost Souls - we've known Azza forever from Zombie Ghost Train, so it's about time we see the 2 Azza's in their new band. Methinks some horror punk make-up is in order - and Dom may wear his Horse's head!
After that we're gonna head to The Sly Fox for "Girl Germs". It's a club promoted by Danielle of "Take It or Leave It" - playing cool alt music made by chicks - Babes in Toyland, Hole, L7, Xray Spex, Luna Chicks, Nitocris, Sleater Kinney, Elastica, Madonna (oh dear..), PJ Harvey, Kate bush, Garbage, Joan Jett, The Selector, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Slits, Bangles, 4 Non Blondes, Divinyls, Bjork, The Distillers, The Horror pops, The Breeders, Goldfrapp, etc etc.. Something new for us.
On night shifts next week - yay! So more posting will be in order :)
