ON HAND:

❀ Princess ❀ Sassy Nature ❀ Evolved from a Vulpix given to her by her uncle that shares Ayane’s own arrogant and picky personality. Her prized pokemon and usual choice for battle.

❀ Romeo ❀ Serious Nature ❀ Another pokemon given to her as a gift. Romeo came about on her birthday several years ago from her mother. Loyal and obedient, Romeo and Princess tend to get into tiffs with each other.

❀ Hari ❀ Gentle Nature ❀ Hari is friendly and loves his trainer very much. Ayane didn't like him as much at first, but thinks that he is very sweet.

❀ Camila ❀ Rash Nature ❀ Ayane isn't a fan of poison-types, but the look of a Seviper appeals to her. Camila is actually a favorite of hers for battle.

❀ Pidge ❀ Quiet Nature ❀ Ayane's source for faraway transportation. She keeps him around for Fly purposes.

❀ Bubbles ❀ Quirky Nature ❀ Another transportation-heavy pokemon. Bubbles is used primarily for Surfing, but Ayane does occasionally use him when her other types won't make the cut.

PC:

❀ Bel ❀ Naive Nature ❀ Evolved from a not-so-bright Bellsprout Ayane caught by accident. She wants to turn him into a Victreebell but cannot stand how... dumb-looking he is.

❀ Liv ❀ Timid Nature ❀ A pokemon plans on attempting to train at some point. Liv is very shy and she finds it hard to get close to her.

❀ Bizzy ❀ Lax Nature ❀ A pokemon Ayane caught on her own. He is a touch lazy and loves to eat.

Appearance:
Ayane is a young woman who is actually rather tall. Her shoulders are broad and balance out her figure, along with making her look a little bit foreboding. She is generally self-conscious about her height, but she does find it to be an advantage in certain situations. She is quite pretty and does her best to make sure that she looks nice, but isn't the type to flaunt it, but she does have a certain vain streak and adores compliments.

Her face has sharp features, high cheekbones, and slender eye-shapes. Her lips are usually pressed into an unenthusiastic frown or a smirk. When her moods swing, she can flip through several different expressions, raising her voice to an almost shrill volume as opposed to its usual smooth, kind of low tone. Her skin is pale with a touch of darker color to it that isn't too distracting.

Her clothing is loose and comfortable, not showing off too much skin at all.

Her PB for this journal will be Oerba Yun Fang of Final Fantasy XIII, as the character's face fits her the best, if that's alright ♥

History:
Her life story is simple. Nothing ridiculously eventful. No childhood trauma or tragic events… Just the story of a picky child turned mature trainer.

Ayane was born into a family that had always been influenced by pokemon. Her mother and several of her aunts and uncles were successful breeders who worked in and around Celadon City. Because of their abilities, they were rather wealthy and Ayane grew up with very little worry when it came to lack of money. Her father was in the picture, but he enjoyed training pokemon for the purpose of contests and traveled to many places to show off his abilities. She hopes to see him again and maybe compete alongside him. Her mother hopes for that same goal and would love to see Ayane be happy with her father like she should be. That's really the underlying goal in her journey.

She fell in love with pokemon herself after receiving a Vulpix from her favorite uncle who had a penchant for fire-types. She named the fluffy little guy Princess… though the Vulpix was male. She didn’t care at the time and was really only concerned with naming her pokemon what she wanted. Princess does indeed fit his name. He is just as spoiled as Ayane is and picky about anything that is set in front of him. The uncle who gave him to her became her mentor when it came to gaining the trust of and caring for her new friend. Their relationship is something that Ayane treasures to this day.

This friendship between trainer and pokemon blossomed almost instantly and prompted Ayane to want to go out and start a journey of her own. Her family was enthusiastic about this decision and hoped, maybe, she would want to become a breeder herself after experiencing the same joys that pokemon had brought to them.

She started out on this journey fairly naïve and relatively obtuse to what being a pokemon trainer actually took as far as skill and patience. Of course, she had never been nominated for the Most Patient Girl of The Year Award in the first place and when she realized that she needed that skill along with self-sufficiency… She came pretty close to quitting in the first month after leaving home. One failure after another would probably lead most people to do the same.

But that wasn’t what her mother and especially her uncle would have wanted. That wouldn’t make them proud of her. That would just… disappoint them and lead them to kind of view something that she had done as a failure.

From that moment, Ayane and Princess made a vow to develop their skills and work hard to be everything that they would want to be seen as by other people. Ayane has worked hard to collect badges and build her team in hope of making the people she loves proud of her.

At the moment, she is playing the contest circuit and working her way up through the first stages of the Sinnoh League.
Personality:
Ayane is one of those people who would grate on other very quickly. But she is also one of those who wouldn’t care what others say of her either way. Her upbringing is a large part of what shaped this. She is picky, petty, bossy, and moody on a regular basis. If something comes about that she doesn’t like, she has no problem letting everyone know. As to fit the class she’s in, Ayane is… Vain and cares a lot about how she looks. She’s not extravagant in her appearance in the first place, but she does like to primp on occasionally.

As mentioned before, patience and self-sufficiency were things that she had to learn on her own when she first embarked on her journey. She has learned these things and there is a stark contrast between how she was when she began and where she is now. Really, it’s a change for the better and Ayane is proud of herself. But, in a sense, it’s made her cocky and slightly more arrogant… Which is reflected when she is introduced to people.

Her manner or speech is not and never will be proper. Her voice is lower with a feminine touch to it that sounds very appealing. But in regular situations, she can spit insults and profanity without even noticing.

To strangers and those she first meets, she is generally sarcastic, caustic, mean, and quick to judge. She’ll be the first person to point out someone’s flaws and push them away… Because she doesn’t like getting attached. Most people don’t benefit her so she shoves them off unless they turn out to be someone that she can trust and work with as an equal. Otherwise, she’ll continue being “that kind of guy”.

Underneath that, though, Ayane is filled with pride for her family and wants to be as great at raising pokemon as her family has been. When she makes a genuine friend, she will do her best to make them happy and keep them close. The tough-as-nails exterior is merely something she has in place to weed out those who might hurt her or stunt her journey.

Her slightly more quirky traits include her love for desserts such as cake. She will sell her soul and actually go out of her way to have a great piece of cake. She is deathly afraid of ghost-type pokemon and hates to admit that they make feel extremely uncomfortable. Most notably, though, Ayane considers herself a “fire-type” trainer, but will only catch pokemon that she deems to be cute enough for her… And many of them do not fit her proclaimed specialty.

In quick review, Ayane is a petty young woman who has the potential to be friendly but it takes a little time to gain her trust first.
Sample I:
You are dead last on the trainer ranking list!

That list is rigged. It has to be rigged. There's no way in HELL that I've gotten that low! I take a break for a few weeks and they bumped down to last place!?

That isn't fair! I was on vacation. It didn't even last that long. Some moron must've entered the numbers wrong...!

If they don't fix it, I'll show them why I belong at the top. Or at least in the middle... But nowhere near where my name is right now. Is that really so much to ask? Stupid rankings commission. They can't do anything right unless someone holds their hands. Shit.

Sample II:
A Pokémon, wild, tamed, or one of your own, has a crush on you and refuses to leave you alone.

"What's your problem, Romeo??" Ayane wailed as she kept inching away from her dear Arcanine. He was having a day... One of those that put him in a mood that he never, ever expressed on a regular basis.

The woman turned toward him again, hands placed firmly on her hips with a scowl tugging at her lips, "You knock it off right now and let me go back to sleep, okay? We're never gonna get anywhere if you keep--!" Her words were cut off when the large canine's tongue dragged itself across her face, leaving a thick trail of saliva that made the bits of hair that usually floated about her face stick up.

Her right eyelid twitched as she came to the slow realization of what just happened, "You... You..."

Romeo tossed his head playfully, nudging his nose to her arm, nearly knocking her off-balance. He barked at her, just as she jumped forward, taking tufts of the fur on the side of his head into her hands. She yanked him as close as she could, placing her forehead to his, her much smaller looking almost laughable next to his, "Listen to me, Romeo," she growled, "I dunno where your brain ran off to, but call it back right now and stop acting like a fool."

Romeo just whimpered and attempted to snuggle at his master again.

Suddenly, a sound from overhead caught Ayane's attention and she directed her attention upward... A flock of Beautifly were fluttering in the sky and suddenly things made sense.

"You didn't try to eat one, did you...?" She gave Romeo a deadpan look as he howled at the Beautifly. One of them appeared to be particularly flustered, still trailing a flurry of sparkles behind it that Romeo took a whiff of before snuggling Ayane again in no time.

She huffed, giving him a ruffle on his head. Trying to eat a Beautifly meant having to deal with a possible Attract attack... Which had turned dear Romeo into a charming example of his namesake.

"Oh, Romeo, Romeo..."
