I love baking. I'm always looking at baking & cooking websites/blogs for recipes and new ideas to try out. So a while back I came across
Bakerella and I knew I just wanted to try some cake pops in the future.
I was pretty wary about how they were going to taste due to the candy shell. Today, I finally decided to try them out. First I made a chocolate cake from this new Hershey's book I got for christmas. It tastes really good. Anyways, I took about a 1/3 of the cake and turned them into balls. I then took about half a bag of orange candy melts and melted them. That didn't turn out great at all, it got all grossly thick. Mostly because I tried thinning it out with water. Not so smart on my part. I took the other half of the bag and used that melted as is. I did like 3 with sticks and the rest were just done crappy cause I got frustrated.
I'd love to try making these again, now that I know what doesn't work. These taste great though. Very moist.
I'm planning on baking a good amount of stuff for valentine's day. I really hope everything goes as planned because I want to give them out to my family. Febuary is going to be busy for me with 4 birthdays and v-day.
