Poem: Tomorrow (K | 86w)

[ K | 86w | 2007-11-27 ]

tomorrow

kisses, stolen
whispers,
promises to
love forever
are exchanged over
the lunch yard tables.

in three years’
time, she will look
back on him as
a stepping stone to better
things, and
he will look back on
her as his first
real mistake.

their forever
lasts sixth months,
two days,
three hours,
ten seconds,
and ends in a scribbled
note stuffed
in a locker.

but, oh, oh-
to be that young again,
to be that young again.

and not know
the meaning of
the word
tomorrow.
