[Pimp + Picspam] Touching Evil - Creegan/Rivers, Vera Farmiga
I have no brain functioning thingie stuff today, so instead I bring another picspam.
Touching Evil is show that ran on USA in 2004 for thirteen episodes, starring Jeffrey Donovan and Vera Farmiga as two detectives working for the Organized and Serial Crimes Investigation Unit. Set in San Francisco, the show devoted what I consider to be equal amounts of time to character development as well as the “crime of the week.” David Creegan (Donovan, a.k.a. the star of Burn Notice) has only recently come back to work; after being shot in the head during pursuit, he spent a year off for a psych leave of absence. He was clinically dead for some number of minutes-five, ten? My memory fails on me this point-and went through a large personality shift because of it.
He’s teamed up with Susan Branca (Farmiga) and struggles to re-adjust. Mark Rivers (Bradley Cooper) comes in mid-season, an unexpected and somewhat cocky addition to the team, but he gets his job done and proves himself when they start working together.
I’d recommend this show to anyone who likes:
a) Jeffrey Donovan, b) Vera Farmiga, c) Bradley Cooper
d) The TV shows Life or Brimstone
e) Slash. Particularly of the Donovan/Cooper kind (because they’re my OTP *g*), but there are other pairing potentials as well-het, OT3. Not so much with the femmeslash, but Branca is totally crossover-able, in my opinion.
f) Angst.
g) Slight surreality, themes of life/death.
And, well, since this seems to be turning into a full-blown pimp post instead of just a picspam, have a few Touching Evil fic recs. I’d particularly rec carolinecrane’s Creegan/River fic here and here.
So herein are a few caps of Creegan/Rivers-unfortunately low quality, because the files I have are low quality, and also unfortunately skimpy on the touching, because these two are more of a snark-and-banter duo than best friends who hug. Someday I might have to transcribe my favorite bits of their dialogue, which include phrases like “you totally wanted to tap that ass.” And then just a few shots of the gorgeous Vera, because... wow. You just have to see her eyes to believe them. They’re so incredibly striking. The promos shots are hi-res, so click for bigger.

Yes, that is Creegan’s crotch in the same shot as Rivers’s head. Because they’re subliminal like that. God bless whoever decided that Jeffrey Donovan should wear those tight, tight jeans on this show.
