Drake & Josh
Okay. I know that most of us need another fandom like we need GIANT BRAIN EATING VIRUSES, but. This show is worth making an exception.
The wonderful
poisonivory put together a pimping post that, really, says everything that I’d want to say, and more, so check it out-it’s full of screencappy and quotey goodness.
Drake & Josh, otherwise known as the Gayest Show on Television, Yes, Even Including Smallville.
But, essentially: this show has one of the gayest teen boy pairs I’ve seen since Merton and Tommy. AND WE ALL KNOW HOW GAY THOSE TWO ARE. The difference? These two actually KISS on-screen. More than once. And cuddle! And just generally get all up on each other as much as they possibly can!
The shows are similar in many ways, as a matter of fact-both have a lot of physical humor, and they both focus on “odd couple” cool guy/nerdy guy pairings.
I could totally see Drake/Josh/Merton/Tommy as an OT4. Just think about it. Drake and Tommy would totally commiserate about Merton and Josh trying to get them to do silly things like reading, while Merton and Josh would get up to all kinds of crazy experiments in the lab and undoubtedly blow up their heads to epic proportions in their attempts to chart the human brain or something. And Merton and Josh could commiserate about their younger sisters! Becky and Megan could hook up and take over the world! Their parents could hang out and be the most oblivious four adults to ever exist!
*sighs*
Why do I always get hankerings for crossovers that it’s almost guaranteed no one will write? It’s a shame, really, because this one would be so amazing.

And
yuletide is here again! \o/ Time to
nominate fandoms. I finally narrowed down my nominations to six,
though there were some I was sad I couldn’t include.
Katie Waitman - The Merro Tree
Julie E. Czerneda - Web Shifters Trilogy
Eye of the Beholder (book or movie)
Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King AKA Die Nibelungen
Aquaman (tv)
Powder (movie)
I focused on nominating fandoms that I’m almost positive I will not find fic for ANYWHERE else.
The ones I hope someone else will nominate (if you have open slots, I would love you for doing one of these!):
Wet Hot American Summer
Superman Returns
Threshold
Kitchen Confidential
Touching Evil (US)
Lexx
Primeval
She-Creature
The Illusionist (movie)
RPF - As the World Turns (Jake Silbermann/Van Hansis, specifically)
RPF - Classic Hollywood
RPF - Hairspray (2007 movie)
I’ll be happy to give character details if anyone does want to do one of these. I know I’ll offer to write them if they’re available.

Would it be possible for these guys to be ANY MORE ADORKABLE? I really think not. It would probably be physically impossible. I also love how they’re all cuddly with each other. ♥
Indian Bollywood Thriller yessss. This is one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time. I’m particularly fond of the gratuitous crotch thrusting. Never can get enough of that.

And some other random topics:
» First: Speaking of Bollywood?
This movie was obviously made for me, and me alone. It’s called Duplicate and stars Shahrukh Khan, who I just adored in Asoka, and he plays not one, but two parts. Oh, doppelcest, how I love thee, I can’t even begin to count the ways.
» Second:
These bookmarklets, created by the wizard
murklins, are the coolest things ever. Basically, they’re bookmarks that you have at the top of your browser that, when you click on them, change the view of the LJ page you’re on.
So, for instance, the difference between viewing a page:
standard (original style) |
?style=mine (your style) |
?style=mine&mode=reply (your style with reply mode)
The last one I find particularly helpful when I’m checking out a story and want to see how long it is without the page of comments. Give ’em a try. I can’t even count how many times a day I use the style=mine and format=light ones, myself.
» Third: Updated my
banners post, which now includes an awesome birthday present from
jadeblood. Clark/Corny FTW!
» Fourth: Everyone’s probably already heard, but
R.I.P. Robert Jordan and
Madeleine L’Engle. L’Engle, I... she was a true inspiration. And such a part of my formative years; honestly, I can’t really believe that she’s gone. Part of me thinks that she’s just found a different form of energy to exist in.
