Meme I grabbed from everyone:
I think we should all do this about whatever our fannish bliss is at the moment. Let’s make it so that today it is impossible to turn around on LJ without running into a list of joy about some show or another. Who’s with me? C’mon, I challenge you. A list of ten things that you love about your current fandom(s) posted to LJ and a challenge to all of your flist to do the same.
+ Heroes. I marathoned all of it this weekend and really, really liked it. \o/ I finally like the source material for a big fandom! This gives me all kinds of glee! Squeeage forthcoming.
+ Luke and Noah. They make my heart happy. I was organizing their YouTube story clips for an upcoming pimpage post, and guh, they just made me happy all over again.
+ Organic fruit and the fact that about 70% of my diet over the weekend consisted of it. (I list this because I consider worship of fruits to be a completely valid fandom.) Figs, strawberries, red grapes, mango, peach, blueberries... mmmmmm, it was all so good. Bliss, I tell you. Bliss. And the other 30% was birthday cake and delicious Puffins peanut butter cereal.

yuletide talk is already here. I’m ridiculously pumped for this year. Last year, I signed up impulsively hardly knowing what to expect, so the anticipation of the wonderful event this time around is going to be so much more fun. Especially since I’ll actually have a place to talk about it! How did I ever survive without a fannish journal to squee in? Madness, I tell you.
+
Sweet Charity. It’s currently at around 3,200 pounds. How wonderful is fandom for pledging that much (and still more bidding days to go)? And someone bid 50 pounds on my miscellaneous service. 50 freaking pounds! My levels of ecstasy at this fact cannot be textually rendered.
+ Northern Exposure. Also marathoning this. And this exchange from one episodes I watched today nearly made me fall out of my chair with ’shippy happiness:
“Look, you don’t understand. Marilyn is […] I mean, how do I say this? She’s just... not like other people.”
“No?”
“No, she’s better. “
“Better than what?”
“Better than you and better than me. Better than anyone. She’s... I don’t know, she’s simple.”
“Developmentally delayed?”
“No, no, no. Not-not that kinda simple. On the contrary, she’s very intelligent, insightful. I mean, she’s even brilliant at times. I mean, when I say simple, I mean, like, in an elegant way.”
“Was she suffering from depression before she left Alaska?”
“I don’t think so. Not that it’s easy to tell, she’s kinda taciturn.” […] “Yeah, but, I mean, it’s in a good way. Her silences actually speak volumes.”
“I see. Is there anything else?”
“Um, well. Yeah. She’s guileless.”
“I’m sorry?”
“Guileless? Without guile?”
I... no words. *flails with overflowing Marilyn/Joel joy* That’s the sort of quote that inspires a ’ship manifesto. Seriously. (
leda_speaks, you were so right about this episode. !!)
I also adore:
“Chris, as long as they’re still on the wall and not crawling up your leg, let ’em ride, man.”
- Tooley’s advice to Chris, 4x19 Family Feud
This show is just a never-ending fount of good.
