Nobody writes it if it's canon. I've never figured out why. But I think that's why there's no one else writing Dead Man On Campus fic, either.

I guess it's not as exciting? Or something. I'm really not picky; I'll just as happily write canon as non-canon.

I haven't seen DMoC. There's a good pairing in that?

DMOC is a really stupid movie, but the main characters are practically canon. In fact, most of the other characters in the film spend the entire movie thinking that they're sleeping together. One of the screenwriters was gay so there are a lot of double entendres.

I suppose people write what canon hasn't given them. I don't work that way either, but I learned long ago that I'm in the minority most of the time : )

Ooooh. That sounds fun! God knows I've watched more than a few bad movies for slashy potential, and double entendres almost always lead to good plot bunnies. *g*

True. I like to write what the canon doesn't give me, a lot of times, but I appreciate when the canon loves us enough to give us great stuff to work with, too.

Yeah, years ago I went looking for fic and couldn't find any, so I wrote an obscene amount. Everyone's always excited that there's some out there, but still no one else writes it. I don't get it.

I think it's the "hey, look, great fic for a thing I've been craving! Now I don't have to write it" syndrome.

I run into this constantly. But I still badger them for fic, because fair's fair, and what was I talking about? I just noticed how slashy that icon is. o.O
