There are days I should be banned from commenting on people’s entries/responding to comments. Today is one of those days. Every comment I leave, I don’t notice a thing amiss until it arrives in my inbox with OMGWTF SO MANY TYPOS. How is it possible to squeeze five typos into two sentences, I ask you? How?

Yay fic! I’m having my monthly “oh, yeah, I knew I liked reading this stuff for a reason” phase.

Wait, I’m a vegetable, not a fruit? But fruit is my love. How can this be?

Speaking of which, I keep thinking I’ve come across my ultimate fruit OTP or OT3, but then another one comes along and I just can’t decide. Mango/pineapple/banana was going pretty strong for while, what with its combination of exotic, heavy sweetness (with just a touch of tart from the pineapple, mmmmm, so good), but today I had a banana/peach smoothie that also quite appealed-a mild but rich combination.

Random Brokeback thought that occurred to me today: I was pondering an article I read when I first got into the fandom, something along the lines of ‘Jack and Ennis Are Bisexual Sheepherders, Not Gay Cowboys’ (I thought it made some very valid points in regards to narrowness of sexual definition), and that got me wondering which labels, if any, I would personally apply to the Jack and Ennis that I write.

I think, for the most part, that if I had to choose labels, I write Ennis as gay and Jack as bisexual. For some reason, Ennis’s repression strikes me as compensating for something-like the more he tries to hide it, the less he can. Whereas I overly identify with Jack, and so I think I tend to write him with closer to my own sexual orientation (because, canonically, I think both of them can really go either way, and in most senses, labels are inaccurate and shots in the dark at best, offensive and artificially boxing-in at worst). I know that I also have a stereotype in my mind that being bisexual = more openness, and that probably factors into the way I write Jack, too.
