» One:
remixthedrabble round 2 is up. Go and check it out. We had HP, Brokeback, Brimstone, InuYasha, Quantum Leap, Superman Returns, The X-Files/Matrix, and Threshold represented. I’m not going to give anyone prizes for guessing what I wrote this round, though, because it’s so BLARINGLY OBVIOUS. But speculation is still encouraged. ^^
My author remixed
Catch Me If You Can (an X-Files/Matrix Scully/Trinity double drabble) and told it from the Matrix POV, and does an incredible job with it. You know you want to read it:
Caught in the Web (The Networked Remix).
And for those of you interested in participating in the next round of drabble remixes,
there’s a poll up about when people would like the next round to be, so be sure to vote.
» Two: Reviews. Whee!
Queer as Folk
Thoughts from 2007-07: 5x01-5x04: Ben/Brian is a tasty pairing, and I like Emmett/Boyd, but I must say that I miss Emmett/Ted. I also liked the Mel and Lindsay fight scene, and, oh, can anyone else see Brian/Benny from RENT? Because that’s a pairing that should totally be ficced.
And then towards the end of the season: Can’t believe Ted ended up with Blake. That was so random and dashed all my lingering Emmett/Ted hopes. Also, they maintained the tension of Brian/Justin vs. Brian/Michael right up to the end, didn’t they? Meanies. And I have to admit, they did a really good job of making me like Brian/Justin. I’ve always been very resistant to Brian/Justin because I’m, at heart, a best-friends ’shipper, so even when Brian/Justin developed and became more than just random fucking, I still resisted, because I was kind of hoping that Brian/Michael would work out, despite all their differences. But I gotta say-the “I love you” scene was just too well done. I couldn’t not cave in to Brian/Justin at that point. But I’m glad they didn’t go through with the marriage because that would have been too pat and easy, I think. Then again maybe I say that because a small corner of me is hoping that someday Brian/Mikey will still happen? Ha. I dunno. I’m mostly happy with where it ended, and I’m glad they didn’t draw the series out too long.
I lovelovelove how they used Heather’s song again in this episode, and the last scene was great. It was a really nice hearkening back to the beginning and a great way to end the series.
Doctor Who
Along with BSG, I “watched” this by letting it play in the background while I was going through my journal and tagging my entries. I’m not sure if it was just the second season, or if maybe I just don’t like the plotlines of the show or what, but even towards the end I was having trouble investing myself in what happened. The only scenes that I really paid any attention to were the ones where Jake and Mickey were kicking ass (I think I OTP them, just a little) and when Rose and the Doctor were saying goodbye. That was quite, quite sad. I’m not surprised that the doctor was cut off before he had a chance to say it back, but even expecting it, it was sad.
I think I need someone to give me a good reason to watch Season 3. Will I love Martha? Is there some potential for some delicious femmeslash? (That’s usually a good way to get me to watch anything. *g*)
Then again, before I pick up watching Doctor Who again, I’m going to relish me some Torchwood. w00t. Actually, Torchwood is the whole reason I decided to watch DW S2, because I wanted to make sure I was watching in some kind of semi-continuity. TORCHWOOD HERE I COME!
Oh, Jack. ♥ I’ve missed you, baby.
And I’m sad to say that my occasional terrible lapses in judgment when it comes to media are still present, as evidenced by the fact that after two episodes I sort of love H20: Just Add Water. Maybe I just have a thing for mermaids (especially OT3ish mermaids)?
» Three: Hi, my name is Sheera, and my brain has been eaten by fandom. Witness my new default icon (HUGH AND JAMES ARE SO MEANT.TO.BE.), my new Corny/Seaweed journal header (
trascendenza), and the fact that as soon as I wake up tomorrow, I’m going to haul my ass to the theater and catch one (or two) showings of Hairspray.
At some point I’ll type up a real review of it, but in the meantime: is there anyone else who has a hankering for some Maybelle/Corny? Because I have a serious one. That needs to be sated. Along with some wanting of Penny/Tracy, Link/Seaweed, Link/Seaweed/Penny/Tracy, and basically Corny/almost anyone eligible.
» Four: I feel like making some voice posts. I need material. What should I do? A dramatic reading or re-enactment? Sing some more a cappella songs? Play my didgeridoo? *g* And hey, you guys know me, I’m completely interested in embarrassing myself in public, so if you have a horrible excerpt just waiting to be butchered, send it my way.
