second SHADOW CAPTURE
[The phone picked up and for a moment it was quiet as the tiny boy flicked through pages. in a book. It was irritating, playing the act of human all the time... but after three hundred years, the consistency stuck.]
H-hello, this is Selim. I had spoken to people a few days ago on the phone. A-and Mother always told me to thank the people when they help you! I want to say thank you to everyone who helped me! ... I'm sorry if I bothered any of you.
[He quieted for a moment in the child-like shyness. There were many things he could chirp on about for hours as 'Selim'. This child was happy and optimistic, but even Pride knew a six year old separated from everything he knew would not nearly be as such. Pride himself wasn't happy about this either.]
...I guess I should introduce myself properly. I'm Selim Bradley...I just turned six recently... My Father is... well he's the Fuhrer of the Amestris! I couldn't be prouder of him at all! I always wanted to grow up and be able to help him protect the country! This kid, he's here too, Mr. FullMetal Pipsqueak... I want to be able to get a state alchemist license at a young age like he did so I can stand by Father's side! If I can learn alchemy and do it I'll be a great use to him!
...But Mother always did say not to grow up too fast, but I want to help my father! [He quieted for a moment, his voice slightly softer. The tone was a torn sort of sadness.] There's a train in my room that reminds me a lot of the one Mother bought me when she went to the Western region... I really like looking at it.
[Another pregnant voice, and in an even smaller voice.]
Is there anyone here who could help in math? Please, I'd be really grateful! ... I just don't understand some of this homework... I've never been to a school with other kids.
