i completely get this .. i think the all the "rules" that people seem to think they have to follow are complete bs. everyone has individual needs and should live accordingly.

The only time I feel the need to play down my chosen gender is when I visit my parents. My parents are the type that know whats up....don't EVER want to tlak about it, and will never call me by my chosen name. I only make the situation worse by playing by their rules when I visit them so I don't lose them from my life.

I think it's easier for me to play down my gender as an FTM rather than an MTF, maybe? All I have to do is shave my face well and wear sandles instead of boots with my jeans and my mom is satisfied....LOL! I still bind around them and pack if I feel like packing. I'm tryin to think of what it would be like to have the roles reversed....but I guess if I was a girl/MTF I'd still be wearing jeans and boots or whatever....so ?

You are so right. Some of my friends have committed suicide because they have bought into the bs. We have to be "flexible" in order to survive. Thank you for replying, I really appreciate it ;)

yeah and like how many biological women do you know who are the height of femininity 24/7? i suppose there is a vast set of actions that lie outside of the gender continuum like EATING and NOT GOING COMPLETELY APE SHIT WITH ISOLATION that are probably constructive eh? still, 23/7 is tough. thanks for posting this. i was just having a crap load of gender related anxiety today and reading this made me smile. thanks for reading my mind.

hi.

Thanks for reading my mind also ;)

And somedays maybe it is 22/7?

Or 21/7?

I guess the thing that has seemed hypocritical to me is that mtf are often expected to be more feminine than most biological females. I guess I would like to see some "sanity" applied to the whole process of transitioning.

Eatthosediapers' post, besides her handle, about "apeshit with isolation" made me laugh out loud. So true, so very true.

Besides the need to take care of your own biz, you also have to consider other people. For ex, there are people in my life, precious people (like my kids), who were in my life before or outside of my decision to crossdress. I could force-feed them my alter gender, but until society isn't APESHIT CONFLICTED about TG, some of my relationships are better protected and served by using some common sense and consideration. Life ain't just about me, a fact that TGs all too often lose sight of.

IMHO.
