Good afternoon, transnoctem here at JAFC, 101.53. I figured you must be getting fed up with the silence on other channels. I know I am. I also figured that should the worst come to worst, I could ensure that your receivers catch at least one frequency. Self important? Who, me? You must be joking.

I guess I'll have to skip the usual 'no news from anywhere' part and tell at least something. Although I do intend to drop by the Motorised Female's base later today and see if I can get any interesting missed facts from there. You'll get the scoop, don't worry.

So, you may be wondering how my more official foray into Battery City went. The one where I didn't, you know, sneak around and take undercover pictures of their surveillance systems. But rather, when I dressed up semi-presentably, which was a drag... that is, the fact of having to dress up was a drag, not my actual attire. Anyway, yes, I mean that last time I went there to meet with some people rather than to avoid meeting anyone. The people in question turned out to be quite nice, at least as long as I was cooperating with them. I guess they had no reason to waste any emotions on a mere assistant, provided said assistant was doing her job well. Which wasn't that easy, actually, since the meeting I was invited to involved many more people than I had originally thought, and mediating a dozen people around the table was far from easy, especially after spending months in the company of a grand total of one person at a time. Well, not counting Amnesiac's little journey. But there I was more of an escort - no, not that kind of escort - and he did his own talking.

So, the good news is, I got paid, and even more than we had originally agreed on. The bad news is, they want me for another meeting, this time on the other side of the country. It's going to keep me away from base for at least two days, and will involve planes and hotels, and cities, cities, cities. Obviously, it would've been suspicious of me to turn down what was a very good offer for someone in my perceived position. Ah well, I'll have to see how it goes. Spending a few days in cities surrounded by unknown people and without my raygun handy is going to be quite a test of perseverance. At least the money ought to pay for some more training. Which will also have to be moved because of said trip. Provided I can make it to the session tomorrow. That will require getting over my current slight under-the-weather-ness, no wonder city-induced.

In other news, the work for V7 yielded some amusement when I stumbled across a document that many of my friendly neighbourhood identity murderers would kill to get their hands on. Since I'm a benevolent person by nature, I won't make them go to such lengths and make the necessary information available at first request. Just because I'm a good neighbour, you know?

Something tells me that should I have more informational windfalls like this, I'll make it to the Battery City enemy list of at the very least twenty. Gotta make the Killjoys proud, you know. Signing off now. Stay safe out there and make lots of noise, wherever you are.

transnoctem out.
