I wrote to HRC with the hopes that there was still hope they might stand in support of transgender employment rights and continue the fight while other wavered.

We know that everyone has been waiting to hear from HRC about the status of ENDA.  A lot has changed since Wednesday.

Ugh. I don't know what's worse, that my little heart just broke, or that I was generally expecting it to. Gosh, I guess we should just sit and fold our hands and wait politely for rights.

I'm sure it won't be more than thirty-plus more years.

Challenge every HRC member to stand behind their little comfy equality stickers. Ask your friends - especially if you have white upperclass nontrans gay male friends - if they are members, and if so, ask if they will write in our support.

Barney Frank needs to retire.

Can someone please tell Barney & Nancy that a trans-inclusive bill just passed the other day?

they say there's talk of the democratic support for the bill failing unless they take TG out of it.

Do you think they will come back for us at some point?

Have they ever? This has happened several times because in passing state discrimination bills. The lcocal gay rights organzations will ask the T community to not make noise over not be included in the bill and that they will be taken care of later in later legislation. So far this has never happened.

Wait for 2008.
Assuming a Democratic sweep, we can see what they are willing to do.

2008 is their last "pass".
I'm willing to give it to them.
If they fail, I ave alternative plans that involve moving out of country.

Lame. Just... lame. If they feel that people aren't educated enough about transfolk in order for the bill to pass it makes me wonder how hard they tried in the first place to educate the "educated". Ugh... well at least there are other countries to choose from.

I feel so sad that my own country doesn't take better care of me, but I will not move to another country. I'm an American too damn it. I deserve equal rights just like anyone else in our country does. Where would we be in this life if Martin Luther King Jr moved to another country.
