Thomas WolfeAmerican novelist. His most famous work is Look Homeward Angel which is a largely autobiographical work that takes place during the Great Depression in a fictional town in the south. The book has oscillated from critical acclaim to complete rejection by critics since it was released. In 1957 Ketti Frings transformed the novel into a stage play which received numerous Tony Award nominations for Best Play.
