Back in the media room, Katara is gearing up for Round Two with Dr. Jerkface. She has her own private little viewing screen that's telling her all about the difference between red and white blood cells.

She is absolutely botherable. If not for the necessity of healing lessons, she would have fallen asleep with this information ages ago.

Azula's been tinkering around in here, looking at stuff to watch...finding none of it as interesting as standing behind one Katara right now.

So there she is, standing loomingly over Katara.

Boo.

Katara is reading. Avidly. And not really noticing anything creepy like, say, somebody's sister who recently planned her imminent doom standing behind her.

Unfortunately, the computer has a screen. And the screen is reflective.

"Ahh!"

And Katara is startled and now very irritated, turning in her seat to glare up at Azula.

"Did you have to do that?!"

"It allows me to have a little fun." Azula shrugs, smirking, moving around to stand on the other side of the desk. "In this desolate place."

"Oh, well, good, I'm glad to entertain you," Katara snaps, still glaring, if only to keep her eyes on Azula at all times. "What are you doing in here?"

Azula raises her eyebrows. "Is there a rule saying I can't enter?"

Making a face at her, Katara turns to face her and crosses her arms over her chest. "I'm just wondering if you're in here for a reason or if it's just to bug me. Bored of the imaginary palace already?"

Maybe she shouldn't taunt Azula with things Zuko told her but-- oh, who's she kidding? Of course she should.

A muscle in Azula's jaw tics, she can feel it. Her eyes narrow and her fingers tighten around each other's behind her back. "Zuzu talks to you, does he? Well, it's good he's got people around to help him out with his transition into peasantry."

HEY, YOU DO NOT GET TO INSULT HER BOYFRIEND.

But... maybe she doesn't need to know about that, just yet. Maybe Katara can steer the conversation elsewhere.

Something that doesn't get her violations, for instance.

"I don't know what you've heard, but when someone shoots lightning off in a big room? It's not exactly quiet. Zuko didn't need to tell me."

But it's a good thing he did because she wouldn't have known about it otherwise! Loud lightning or not!

"Of course he'd go running towards the nearest female." She says flippantly. "Poor Zuzu, misses being able to run to Mother everytime something didn't go his way."

Now it's Katara's jaw that twitches, her hand clenched tightly at the edge of her chair. But she's able to keep her voice even and quiet - that much she can manage.

"It must have been very hard for him, growing up like that. I mean, surrounded by all those men... oh, and you, of course, I keep forgetting."

While she insults Azula's womanhood.

Azula just smirks. "At least I didn't become a coddling little girl with mediocre skills."

That might be an insult to her...or to Zuko. One may NEVER KNOW.

"Who needs to be coddling when they can be a razor-sharp bitch who'd turn on her own blood as quick as she'd swat a fly?"

Katara smiles.

It's not a very nice smile.

"And why shouldn't I? Zuko's never done anything for me, and eventually he will run out of uses." She shrugs. Very flippantly.

"I wasn't talking about Zuko."

Zuko wasn't an old man who'd received lightning to the chest.

"But it's nice to see you get your relatives confused, considering how many you'd turn on without thinking about it."

"Ah, Uncle, then." Azula amends. "He's a doddering old fool who did run out of use, long ago."

Except for training Zuko...which obviously worked, dammit.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

And then ha.

Smirking, Katara has no problem replying to that with, "To you, maybe."

But not to everyone else just yet.
