Sokka's been spending most of his time in the media library recently. After all, everybody loves the media library. Sokka admittedly spends most of his time watching WWE matches, a spy show, the most overdramatic documentaries he can find, and the occasional episode of Thomas the Tank Engine. Sokka does not make himself a slave to the recommended

"Aang?" he calls. "It's me. You in here?"
While he waits, though, he settles beside a scrub of flowers, and investigates the petals. The Temple never looked like this when he was there. This is Aang's real home, in time as well as space... it's not really Sokka's thing, who's more into the majesty of bustling cities like Omashu and Ba Sing Se, but he can tell it's pretty.

Sokka heads over to the window, looks at his buddy the Avatar. Yeah, that's not his happy face. Which is horrible, because all of Aang's faces are his happy face. It's one of the most insufferable things about him.
"You okay?" Sokka pauses, and gestures to the nearest door. "...Maybe I should knock, right?"

"Sorry I haven't come to visit," Sokka says, as he walks in. "Been avoiding everyone, really."
But it's not time to whine about Silent Hill. Knowing the answer already, Sokka repeats his question: "You okay, Aang?" He considers adding a you don't look it, but it's best not to presume. Let Aang say what Aang wants to say.

Sokka sits cross-legged in the centre of the room.
"You wanna... talk about it?"
He hears that this is what one does about emotional downpoints. Well, that or punch stuff. Sokka tends to go with "punch stuff", but he'd like to keep Aang out of the Avatar State, thanks a bunch.

"Yeah, I know the feeling," he says. "From what I hear, Stacy can make just about anything you want to punch in here, if it'd help. Or if you really need to you can punch me, though I'd rather you didn't."

Sokka stands.
"Aang, I've seen you summon up a hurricane, I've seen you burn down a temple, I've seen you sweep away a fleet. If..."
He sighs. Changes his tack.
"Yeah. Sorry, man. It's been a while, and we were in a bad place, and... yeah. I was scared of you, for a bit." He takes a step towards the blanketed airbender. "I'm sorry. It's not like you haven't scared me before - not like you're not still my friend. I should have come to you quicker."
It takes a big man to admit his mistakes and apologise, but you don't lie to the Avatar. Besides, the sooner they get past this, the sooner Sokka can get back to making puns with Aang's name in them, which is best for all concerned.

"Sure. Think she'd want me to tell you that you can go to her about these things, though."
Little does Sokka know.

Sokka may not be as great a detective as he thinks he is, but some things he can pick up, if you dangle them in front of his nose and hit him with them.
