Here's someone who feels much better following the trip. Toph is in her little sleeping cubby, which is looking a lot more eyecatching than usual, since it's been lined with crystal

A cat-bot trying to make himself an insomniac pads past. Seeing a sleeping room open, he glances in it.

Oh, evil crystal. In some girl's room. On her feet.

It's eating her alive! Cheetor whirls to face the danger.

"Woah! Hey, look ou--" And then Cheetor trails off, because the crystals that covered Katara's arm looked much less sculpted.

Sculpted and shifting, too. The crystal in Toph's hand grows and compresses as she molds it with her hands.

"What's your problem?"

"Oh. You can move this stuff. ...I knew that, really."

This from the embarrassed cheetah-bot.

Another one from the bendingless worlds. Poor . . . four footed whatever thing.

"Yeah. I can." Pause. "Are you made of metal?"

He resonates weird.

"I'm part flesh, too," Cheetor explains matter of factly. "In this mode, anyway."

Cheetor resigns himself to explaining really obvious things to these poor, robotless humans.

Toph frowns. "How does that work?"

Cheetor thinks for a moment.

"I'm a metal man that can change my form to become an animal that's...mostly flesh."

He hopes that's simple enough.

". . . that's weird."

Just so he knows.

Cheetor's ears pull back. It's one thing to know people think you're weird, it's another thing to have people say it.

He tries to keep his tone light. "Well, yeah. But moving earth with your thoughts isn't exactly every day stuff for me, so we're even."

She said it was weird, she didn't say it was bad.

Then again, Toph is not fond of metal, so maybe she did.

"Guess we are. Are you some kind of spirit?"

Cheetor shakes his head. "Just your friendly neighbourhood shapeshifting robot - what we call a metal man," he adds quickly.

"Name's Cheetor. Yours?"

"Toph. You can call me the Blind Bandit, if you're into titles."

[fastandferal]

Slaggit, she's blind?! ...Cheetor knew that all along, of course.

A bit too quickly, "Toph - nice name. Um, you humans usually have another name, right?" His memory circuits work furiously. "The kind your family gives you?"

Toph narrows her eyes, just a bit.

"Why d'you wanna know that?"

The Beifong name is useful for getting her into some places, but also a heads-up for people who might be looking for a quick way to get rich. She doubts anyone here would benefit from knowing her name, but you never know. People are dumb.

Dumb like Cheetor, who was forcing himself to say anything other than 'omg ur blind!11!!'.

"Just wondering if you had one, is all. I'm still trying to figure you guys out," he admits.

Cybertron is banned from making trips to Earth. He totally never thought he'd have to know about humans and now this place is full of 'em!

"It's Beifong." Pause. "If that means anything to you, then I'm just gonna let you know up front, I'm the best Earthbender in the Four Nations, and I'll whup you like you've never been whupped if you plan on using me for money."

She smirks.

"Doesn't mean we can't be friends."
