I recently moved back to Connecticut, and the TG support, info, and clincal scene that was here when I left seems to be completely gone. I've had no luck finding new info. I need help.
More than anything else, I need a clinician of some kind. When I left, a group of clinicians named GICNE (Gender Identity Clinic of New England) was in place, but it's since closed up, and I don't know where to turn now. I don't want to travel too far, not the least because it's costly to travel these days, but I'll obviously do what I have to. If I have to go out of state, I'd rather go to Rhode Island or Massachusetts than New York, because I'm more familiar with those places (especially R.I., where I lived for fifteen years before moving back here), but I've nothing against New York and will be glad to go there if I have to. I don't have insurance (not that it would be covered), and not a lot of money.
Under current Department of State rules, I can't get a new passport without a current letter from a doctor, so right now I can't get a passport. I also need to change my license to Connecticut, and the state now requires me to prove I'm a citizen all over again. (Because terrorism or some BS.) I have all the paperwork I used for my name change in R.I. years ago, but because it's now dated, I'm worried Conn. will reject it and require a new letter.) And, having a clinician is just a good idea anyway.
I'm in the New Haven area, if that helps at all.
Thanks so much, y'all. I'm kind of at a loss here.
