This morning I opened the front door just as a car pulled up to the side of the road, blocking my driveway. I couldn't see the whole car because the hedge was in the way, but I kept my eye on the car as I prepared to lock the inside door. I saw a guy standing in the road near the car, and I thought maybe somebody was just dropping him off. I locked the door and made my way out the porch door, and as I reached the bottom of the steps I noticed nobody was in the car. I yelled, "Excuse me," but he didn't hear and continued across the street. I came all the way out to the sidewalk and he was quickly making his way to the apartment building across the street. I yelled, "HEY!" more loudly. He turned around. "Can you move your car please?" I asked politely. He held up his index finger and mouthed the words one minute and turned back around. "NO," I yelled back, "You're blocking my driveway and I need to leave!" He rolled his eyes and made his way back across the street so he could move his car. Into the space directly in front of his car that was clearly large enough to park in in the first place.
Can you believe the gall of this guy? He parks in front of MY driveway and expects ME to wait while he runs in his apartment for something? Fuck you, dude. I hope you crash into a garbage truck.
Between the apartment building and the hardware store we get people blocking our driveway a lot more often than you would expect. For some reason people seem to think it's okay. It looks like we're going to have to buy one of those "do not block driveway" signs. They're so tacky, but it looks like it's going to be necessary. Sigh.
On a happier note, icon meme from
visionshadows:
Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly why you have it, why it's interesting to you, what significance does it have.
From Calvin and Hobbes of course. Because lots of people need a swift kick in the butt. I get a lot of use out of this one.
From Strindberg and Helium. Helium is so cute, especially with a cupcake on his head. I mostly use this for birthdays.
Another Calvin and Hobbes. Because we all want to connect the dots our own way.
Shaun of the Dead. Because I couldn't not have it.
I love Mr. Coyote and his signs, and the look on his face in this one is priceless. I only wish the color was better. Believe it or not, this is actually a big improvement over the original. The sentiment comes in handy more often than it should.
C&H again. This was a beautiful panel from a beautiful strip. I don't use it as much as I'd like because it doesn't really apply to very many things.
Because Jack Chick is hilarious. I use this for Halloween mostly, but it comes in handy occasionally during the rest of the year.
From Exploding Dog. It's pretty and happy. I don't use it as much as I'd like either.
From Suicide Girls. Because I love shoes and lady asses. ;)
This picture is so adorable makes my heart melt. From Stuff on My Cat.
I made a whole bunch of icons from Plan 59, a site full of really neat old ads. This one made me smile. Useful for adventures, if I ever have one.
