[Wherever you are? Not there anymore. Wherever you do find yourself -- in a dark alley, an empty street, perhaps an abandoned office building -- it's night out. But despite the obvious city setting, it's deathly quiet around you -- except for the occasional sound of the wind. ...Or is that a moan off in the distance

We won't mention the fact that Tao-mun got to watch RE:Degeneration a few days ago~ Not that it matters in this situation, but there was a need to share. ♥
Moves quickly and silently behind her through the street, resisting the urge to just react when she spots the scatter of zombies here and there because its in Tenten's nature to kill the suckers before they have a chance to kill her. But Jill doesn't seem concerned so she'll follow the lead and keeps moving until they reach the station. Summons the first aid kit again when its mentioned that the bandages need to be changed and keeps an eye out for anyone or anything approaching. ] I understand.
[ There's... really no need for much words exchanged. Tenten's a good solider who knows when to lead and when to follow. Isn't sure which one of those times it is now though as she watches the other for a bit. ] ...Are you gonna make it?

Listen -- I didn't have the chance to say this before, but -- [hesitates, knowing she'll sound crazy, but to heck with it.] ...I used to live in this city. Before it was like this. But ten years ago, the government wiped it off the map to prevent the virus from spreading. It shouldn't be here. [glances up to show a perfectly serious face] ...I don't know what's going on, but the chances of us getting out like last time -- I have a feeling it won't be that easy.

[ Does look up at the serious shift in her tone though and listens attentively like the shinobi/soldier/ally/teammate she is. And oddly enough, Tenten's face is grimly calm while she takes in all of the info Jill's spilling out. It's a hopeless situation, she's saying. But Tenten's fought in a lot of hopeless situations. The odds are against them, but if there's anything she's learned, it's that you never count out the underdog... ] And the things worth fighting for are never easy, but they're still possible. [ Meets the other's gaze with Team Gai's brand of determination. ] Those odds are good enough for me.

[Quickly finishes the bandage change and stands, leaning against a shelf momentarily while trying to make it look like... she's not leaning against a shelf momentarily.] Thanks. All right -- we don't have far to go, unless -- [Pauses, looking distracted, holding up a hand to indicate that they both remain silent. There's a... hissing sound, almost, and it sounds close, and closer as the seconds tick by -- and no sooner do her eyes widen in realization does the store suddenly explode-- but whatever it was that hit the place, luckily, it hit the backside, so the two of them are only thrown forward towards the gas pumps, which luckily weren't hit rather than being incinerated.]
[Jill's on her feet as soon as she's able, saved from any painful scrapes by her (surprisingly defensive) battle suit; behind them, the gas station is in flames.] Tenten! You okay?

- and freezes.
Because she hears it too. And it takes a split second for Tenten to recognize it exploding tags, bombs, dynamite, they all sound the same and she's heard them all a breath before Jill does and is already making to dart out, hand gripped around the other's wrist by the time the wave of pressure sends them tumbling forward.
Tenten is not as fortunate in the scrapes department, but they're not so bad. Just one across her left temple and forearm where they kind of skidded against concrete when she tried to break her fall. Ouch. But no worse for the wear, really. Sooo much smoke though. Cough. ] I'm fine - [ Cough. ] - Still alive.

- Is already getting up by the time she hears Jill make the command. But her eyes snap to just why.
...Well shit, if it weren't bad enough. ]

Just as the station explodes in a fiery blast.
Because hell if they would've/could've made it out of the blast range of a lit GAS STATION in time to clear the explosion. ]

She had to wait until the sound, at least, died down before even attempting to open the shield.
And with one swift kick to the inside panel, the sections pulled back one by one, letting the fresher not by much, but still fresher in comparison to their steel furnace prison air swirl around them in a cool gust. And she would relax a little at surviving... but there's still something out there.
Looks to Jill and wipes a bead of sweat from her forehead. Calls out over the fire. ] You ok?

Maybe he thought the explosion killed h--
Crack. Crack. Crackcrackcrackcrack--
Of course not.
She turns to see the street splitting in several places, the cracks zooming towards them, revealing the movement of something just beneath the concrete. She steadies her gun against her hip just as several somethings burst from the road just ahead of them -- and those somethings turn out to be several wildly waving tentacles, thick enough to hurt but thin enough to be a difficult target. And Jill's definitely played this game before ...no pun intended, so she aims for the nearest one that's waving dangerously and begins firing.]

...That is until she hears the cracking. Deep snapping might be a better term, because holy hell, the concrete is splitting like it's made of paper and - alkjsdflksjadlfkjsaf - SHE WAS NOT EXPECTING THE GROUND TO EXPLODE UNDERNEATH HER WITH... THAT COMING UP TO KILL THEM dammit, she hates being right ]

[ And after she composes her shock and registers just what it is that's attacking them... watch her throw everything she's got at the tentacles.
...No. Not tentacles. They're just training ropes, she tells herself. Because that's the only way she's gonna get through all this without freaking out too much. This is just another of Gai-sensei's crazy exercise obstacles. And she'll make it through this one like all the rest. ]
[[ OoC: Because you know he did. ]]
