OH IS THAT WHAT HAPPENED? OKAY I GUESS THAT IS BETTER THAN DOUBLE MUN-FAIL |D;lawfulgoodguyMay 22 2010, 01:06:11 UTC
[...At least he doesn't have a clingy "sister" hanging around to get in the way? And he's not thick-headed or BLIND to that sort of thing, just...too modest to simply ASSUME someone would like him like that. ...Flynn-muse just looks at him sideways and says, Like YOU'RE one to talk, Yuri...]
[He blinks a little at the unexpected...comfort? Vote of confidence? It's sort of both, really--then smiles, a little more gently than usual. Because there's really no missing that blush and he wants to put her at ease, since...he sort of thinks it's probably due to his rank.]
...I'm honoured that you think so highly of me already. I can only hope I prove worthy of that kind of trust. And regardless of what I've experienced, I know I still have to be careful. Thinking you're infallible, that there's no way you'll make the same mistakes as the people who went before you is dangerous... [and here he looks to the side, his smile growing warmer, fonder] But I'm not too worried about that, really. I have a very good friend who'll be watching every step I take, and the moment I start to stray even the slightest bit, I know he'll call me on it.
[...because lolYES the BFF sap gets EVERYWHERE k XD <33]
[...no, but he has a clingy, psycho bitch who Chloe could TTLY take any day, mmkay. Regardless... still not much easier than Senel. XD ...Yuri-muse knooooows Flynn isn't calling him clueless.]
[Despite her remaining flush and the return of that smile, she can't help smiling back at that, and warmly -- since she's able to completely relate this time.] I'm glad to hear it--Sir. [was going to address him as Commandant ____, but at that second it occurred to her that she doesn't know his name, which means she never--]
Oh! [Straightens up even more than she already has, if possible, that briefly comfortable smile immediately gone] Chloe -- Chloe Valens, at your service. [...NO, WAIT, she should have said that at the beginning -- in the middle of a conversation, she should've... it would've been better, anyway, to... agh...]
[1/2] As well |Dcapt_moralfagMay 22 2010, 01:34:11 UTC
[...Ffff OKAY NEW SHIP Shirley+Sodia--THEY CAN JUST GO BE FAIL TOGETHER SOMEWHERE ELSE...but then that would leave both Flynn AND Senel open, wouldn't it...hmm~ who's a girl to choose~? |3 ...Surely Yuri-muse hasn't forgotten what Estelle said Flynn told her...]
[...WELL, I wouldn't be quick to put Shirley as low as Sodia, but. Yeah, they're both fail. Close enough. ......ffffffff mun's Tales!OTP > all. ...He hasn't, but Phase is failing pretty hard in the memory department ATM.]
Commandant Scifo, then. [and his staying at ease helps lower her flustered level a bit.] Thank you again. I only hope that I'll be able to prove myself worthy of the regard you've shown me one day.
[asdfj;akldf NO ONE is as low as Sodia k. B| But Shirley still needs to GTFO. ......AS I THOUGHT, BUT JUST AS WELL RLY--you know of my seekrit(?) super soft spot for Flynn/Estelle~ XD ...She says that Flynn told her that Yuri has "no understanding of female psychology." |D]
[Good, good. Wants to be considered approachable, not intimidating, after all.] Judging by what you've said thus far, I'm certain my confidence is well-placed.
[…and, looking at her (and that obviously well-used sword), he seems to have a thought and come to a decision nearly all at once]
…I don't know how long you're planning on staying here, and forgive me if this seems forward or presumptuous, but if you're ever looking for a place with the Imperial Knights, even just a temporary one, I would be happy to have you in my personal unit, Lady Chloe.
[...Said a certain way, that would doubtless sound like a come-on, but there's none of that here--it's just an earnest statement, a sincere offer.]
[Of course I do. XD ...ffffff only an eyebrow. raise. at that.]
...! [There's no hope of hiding her surprise -- truth be told, she's never belonged to an actual group; when referring to "her" commandant, she only naturally meant the man over the Gadoria Knights, since he did have power over her at one time. Even now, she's more of a rogue knight-by-blood than an official, instated one -- that's how it's always been -- and so while this catches her by complete surprise s;lkdfsd he barely knows her and he's only known her name for about twenty seconds and the knights from her own kingdom would never make this offer, especially to a woman, it's also an honor that she can't even begin to describe.]
I--! [Stops, seeming to recover, and then bows her head some] Thankyou,Sir! I am very honored -- [Straightens up again, and this time meets his eyes without a shred of hesitation 'cause its srs bizniz now] Truthfully, I have no idea myself how long I will stay. But for as long as I am able, I would be even more honored if you would accept my sword in your service and find what use for it that you may.
[heheheee I'm now having the awesome visual of Sodia showing up NOT IN THIS MUSEBOX, HO only to find that Flynn found a more talented prettier new second in her absence. |D And since she's OBVIOUSLY not up to par, she just rejoins his unit as his... third. Or would it be fourth, since Witcher has third? >3]
[♥ lol It's canon, it's canon~! X'D And, well. Sort of true in certain ways...though I really kind of think they're BOTH derps when it comes to girls, ahaha.]
Well then, so long as you're certain--I don't mean to pressure you into a decision, of course--I can have a letter of recommendation brought to whatever inn you're staying at later today.
[pauses and thinks a second, and though he really doesn't want to force this on her, she looks so eager, he figures he might as well put the offer out there, but he keeps his smile steady and doesn't try to push her one way or the other]
...Though actually, I've nearly finished my patrol, so if you'd rather come along right now, there should be plenty of time for us to figure this out back at headquarters.
[As much as she doesn't want to jump on the offer right there and risk being an inconvenience, she is rather eager, and if she does end up working under him, first impressions are important--] Oh -- well, I am free now, but -- only if your time permits, Sir. I would hate to intrude...
I know..Sodia'd probably be LURKING @ the castle & waiting for Flynn, but. DO NOT WANT EVAR. B|lawfulgoodguyMay 26 2010, 04:11:05 UTC
[oh, she's ACED the first impression so far :D]
It's not an intrusion in the least--I did make the offer, after all. And I apologise for the inconvenience, but would you mind if we finished walking the rest of my patrol route? It should only take a few minutes longer, and if you're still new here, it would be a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with that part of the city.
ffff "WITHALLDUERESPECTSIRIMUSTADVISEAGAINSTTHIS" /bitchbitchbitchsouledge_knightMay 26 2010, 22:27:04 UTC
Oh -- it's no inconvenience, really. As you said, I could most definitely use the look around. [Smiles, but nods respectfully] I would be glad to accompany you, Sir.
...All I can hear...is all of my heart saying, "...Get 'er, Chloe." >]lawfulgoodguyMay 27 2010, 01:47:00 UTC
Excellent. Thank you, Lady Chloe.
[And he starts off, taking those first few strides slowly to make falling into step with him easy, so she doesn't have to run or hurry awkwardly to catch up.]
If you have any questions about anything I tell you, or anything you see, by all means, please ask. I want my people to be as well-informed as possible, and I would rather having you asking than wondering.
[During that first part, most of his attention is obviously focused on Chloe; as he moves on to this next bit, though, it goes to their surroundings, his eyes constantly moving, taking in all sorts of details about all sorts of things--from the expressions on peoples' faces to the way they move through the streets to the number of children clustering around a noble woman sitting on a bench to read to them.]
...And as for this patrol...the Nobles' Quarter, the castle grounds, and a few other areas are being covered by my second-in-command today, and I've already been through most of the the Lower Quarter, so all that's left besides that is this part of the Merchant's Quarter. I did a more thorough patrol in the Lower Quarter this morning; this time, it's just a quick walk-through, to remind people we are paying attention.
It'd be so one-sided, it's not even funny. |DDD ...actually, it WOULD be funny. Hilarious, even.souledge_knightJune 10 2010, 02:42:43 UTC
[Stays in pace beside him, watching him as he watches her and then as he looks around; soon, her attention shifts likewise to the people as they pass, although she still steals glances at him on occasion. If she hadn't already gotten an idea of his personality, the careful attention he gives everything would be another hint.]
[Nods once when he finishes] Your system seems very organized. I notice your forces don't appear to be lacking in numbers, either. [Said as she glances at the latest pair of knights that they pass, standing guard at their stations]
It would be A RIOT & A HALF, and I think I would die of sheer glee. |DlawfulgoodguyJune 11 2010, 03:47:36 UTC
[smiles and nods approvingly at the pair of knights, who promptly salute]
A good deal of that isn't technically my doing--a lot of the structure was already in place, it just needed to be reinforced. I'm afraid I can't say much for my predecessor in terms of his concern for the everyday lives of regular citizens...there was a certain slackness where his favourites were concerned, as well as a willingness to simply look away from a problem or incident if he didn't want to deal with it. And yet, for so long, I didn't see any of that...
[For a brief moment, he stops scanning the surrounding city, his eyes dropping to the ground before his feet; but it is only a brief moment, and then he's back to normal, that hint of grave self-blame (mostly) fading as well.]
As for our numbers, yes, enlistment is generally high, though there's also the fact that the Empire has a considerable area to draw from...
[Flynn trails off as something ahead catches his attention--a very heated argument, from the sound of it. He gives Chloe a look that probably reads as here we go again..., and increases his pace a bit.]
Too bad it won't happen. 8[ ..../wonders if there's a way to get Wesker's Mind Control device...souledge_knightJune 12 2010, 01:20:20 UTC
[Wordlessly follows, and while her arms were at her sides before, one hand moves to rest on her hip just above her swordhilt -- not touching it, but ready nonetheless, although she falls a respectful step right behind him]
[He blinks a little at the unexpected...comfort? Vote of confidence? It's sort of both, really--then smiles, a little more gently than usual. Because there's really no missing that blush and he wants to put her at ease, since...he sort of thinks it's probably due to his rank.]
