1) I am looking into getting health insurance and starting T since I recently moved to Mass. I was looking into Ferry since she is only an hour away. The is an issue though, she doesn't take MassHealth but she does take BMC. Problem is...I don't think I can get BMC where I live (01247). I see a person tomorrow to help me get all started so they ( Read more... )

I can only share my experience relating to number 3. At my school they had a form you could send in that was for preferred names. It was primarily used for people who preferred a nic name or short version of their name, but it worked for me to. It allowed me to change the name on everything except my official registration, so all boards and email messages came up under my preferred name.

This might be something worth asking about with your schools registration department to see if there is anything similar to this or if they would be willing to work with you on something like it.

What school? I asked my admissions person I was talking to and she said they couldn't do it.

Some on-line schools actually use the preferred name field rather than ignoring it. My impression is that most on-line schools are approximately equivalent, so if this one isn't doing it for you, keep looking until you find a different one that's willing to work with you. Is there some reason that you're especially committed to this particular school?

There are two online schools that I can find that have the major I want, I can apply for since I'm not 24+ or military, and this one is higher ranked and better accredited than the other. School is one of those things that matters a FUCKTON to me so I refuse to settle for second best over this. If it ends up being suck up my dysphoria and nothing else than I guess that is what it will have to be. I haven't looked into anyone past the admissions office since I figured I would see if anyone had any suggestions here.

of all the parts of transition, changing your name is usually the easiest accomplished.

Can you change your name before you start school?

When I changed mine I was upfront about the fact that I was changing gender, but the system here in Australia is a little different to that of america - no need for a judge or anything.

If I was in your position (and I was), that's how I'd do it.

I need the money. I'm working on getting a job but I don't know if I will be able to do it before January. Between rent, food, bills, and then school, I don't think I'll be able to afford it before I start.

Is the filing fee your main concern? If so, have you looked into a fee waiver?

At this point, yea. They waive fees for name changes?

You can use your initials instead of your birthname thats how I filled out all of my paperwork until I got my name changes.

I works for a very gay-friendly company. I'm just out from the very start there. Your mileage may vary.
