Negotiating feminism post transition

Some context: I'm not exactly "post" transition, as it's still a work in progress, but I get read as male close to 100% of the time. Well, what you said is that feminist women (as a class) will instantly consider a man an "idiot patriarch" if they display "any shred of ordinary masculinity," and you didn't cite (and haven't) research to support this universalizing claim. If I said that all trans people will instantly do x, I can bet that would be overreaching and be considered pretty unhelpful advice.

OP - there are many kinds of feminist women, just as there are many kinds of feminist men. Not all feminists hate masculinity, some are even *gasp*! masculine themselves. Twigletzone is correct that a political group condemning you does not make you a bad person. People can overreact out of their personal experience, etc. However, rather than go into conversations and relationships assuming you will get stigmatized due to your personality, I'd suggest being open about your views, receptive to hearing others perspectives, and not assume the worst out of an entire class of people (which are not really a "class", since there are many feminisms)

If you display any shred of ordinary masculinity - which for some women even extends as far as simple assertiveness - you'll be instantly consigned to the bin marked "idiot patriarch".
