A series of random transition questions!

Yes, I'm here asking a series of transitioning questions for the group tonight.

1. How many of you had facial feminization surgery? Were you satisfied with the results of your appearance/passing?

2. Did you find laser or eletrolysis cheaper? How much per session/hour did you typically pay?

3. A couple of people have mentioned to me before that when ( Read more... )

1. I went ot Spiegel in Boston. I'd rate my satisfaction as 9/10. I think I loss 20% of nerve sensation in a liitle patch under my lip and on the top of my head. The hairline was what I expected, but not what I hoped.

The reason I went for FFS was not as much about passing so much as looking in the mirror, or touching my own face, and seeing/feeling myself. I decided what to undergo by taking a good long look and feel, and trying to figure out which parts of my face felt like a CGI rendering error or prosthetic makeup - which parts provoked a reaction of that just isn't supposed to be there.

But it helps with being read as (cissexed) female, which is kind of important as I'm a butch and can't exactly rely on my attire or hair as a way of getting read right.

2. I mixed it up. Reddish hair on freckled pale skin. So laser first, then electrolysis. What's awesome is that after teh laser, I can grow out my facila hair for two days prior to electrolysis, and no-one can see it because it's so light and fine.

3. There was a small amount of rethickening - wispy nearly-shrunk-to-nothing hair getting thicker. But the bald did not regrow at all. Needed surgery for that. I'm keeping an eye on this hair cloning research. It works so far, but the hair they clone is always white.
