Passports/IDs

So I kind of have two questions for the folks out there who've gotten their passports. I've never actually gotten a passport before, so the one I'm filing for right now is my first one ever. I'm really excited, but of course mother dearest is panicking that someone's going to make my life hell (thats really the only thing she's ever concerned about with me being transgendered, is that someone out there is going to hurt her baby lol). So the first question is really so I can tell her I'd asked someone who has gone through the process and calm her for a second lol. She seems to be under the impression that, because I'm legally male, they'll probably want me to look male when I travel. Yay or nay? I didn't think that would be an issue considering you can't legally change the "M" monicker on your passport until you can prove you've had SRS and I'm sure not every pre-op transgendered MTF has had to travel as a boy lol. She's taking me to New York and she's so damn excited about it and doesn't want it to not happen lol.

And the second one is for me lol. I took my passport photos yesterday and one of the requirements is no hats/head coverings, and by head coverings I'm sure they mean scarves and things like that, but would they have a problem with wigs? I mean, I live day in and day out in them because mine is still recovering from that pesky male pattern issue so it doesn't make me look different than when I'd be travelling. And I've gotten on cross-Canada flights with my photo-ID with a wig on and my ID photo still being more masculine looking (its older and frankly I've been too lazy to get a new one), mostly because I'm open about the fact that I wear wigs and often lift it up when people question my identity haha.

Thanks!!
